hearing 75k in chgo yesterday. here's the thing, tho-

that was just downtown chgo. (i suspect that’s low.) and that’s after many impromptu crowds in the past week as ice has shown up here. but there were also protests in at least a dozen suburbs, some of them pretty red. i dont recall that happening b4.

there were 3,000 in evanston. there were a couple hundred seniors on the northside, outside a senior living bldg. the burbs that had big turnout have been trending blue since sick fuck 1.0. they showed up. but even those still red places had good crowds.

whatever numbers they’re bandying about, trust that it’s low.

1. I wouldn't be surprised either if the numbers were downplayed by msm.

No Kings Day is one of the largest days of protest in American history.

From deep red small towns to our largest cities, millions of people turned out to make clear that the American people will not bow to fascism.

The protesters were peaceful, organized, and above all -- they were brave.

Trump has made no secret of his willingness to use force to crush dissent. He’s got tanks rolling through DC and marines in Los Angeles where we’ve all seen (and continue to see) police respond aggressively to peaceful protests.

And on top of those authoritarian images, we awoke this morning to the news of horrific political violence in Minnesota, where Democratic Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were slain and Democratic Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were wounded.

It is a frightening time in our history. But in spite of that reality -- or rather, in response to that reality -- over five million people here in the US, along with allies in cities from London to Tokyo, stood united today in the belief that democracy is worth fighting for.

There were many many small group protests. People just hanging out on street corners together. People on bridges over major highways. People in small towns and rural communities gathering together.

It was huge! I'm betting that there are some Congress people who are now feeling the earth shake.

Latest that I have heard is 12.1 Million people around the country.

Way to go all of us defenders of democracy!

This list isn’t even complete, there are just too many to name, and honestly, people would stop reading. Turnout across the country was historic. Drop a shoutout in the comments if your city showed up!"

i just did a google to see if i cd find some numbers. depressing.
i found a couple mentions of 5-6 million, but they’re tying themselves in knots to hide it.
nyt, wapo, just from the google snippets (cuz everything is paywalled now) keep saying thousands, and things like- thousands in philly, or this city or that city. only bbc is mentioning overseas crowds.
wapo fb page snippet says thousands and they’re getting reamed in the comments.
many headline the couple of incidents of “VIOLENCE!!!!”.

and ppl wonder y were heading to the shitter.
