Trump says everyone in Iran's capital must immediately evacuateUS President Donald Trump has urged everyone to immediately evacuate Iran's capital, Tehran.
In a post on Truth Social, he reiterated Iran should have signed a nuclear deal with the United States.
"Iran should have signed the 'deal' I told them to sign," he said in the post.
"What a shame, and waste of human life.
"Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON.
"I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!"

This is from a live online blog and was posted 8 minutes ago. Is trump suggesting that the US is about to nuke Tehran?

(15,782 posts)Israel has total air superiority over Iran, there is no reason to use a nuke, which would spread over the ME and contaminate other ME countries.
Their conventional weapons are more than sufficient.

(3,091 posts)It's Israel, also insane imho. Israel has warned Tehran residents to evacuate. Israel is going to bomb the city to hell. This is real. And so, so predicted. Israel must be reigned in, it's a bonkers effing rogue state!

(4,567 posts)...to this war, which Bibi very much wants. Even with our heavy bombers and bunker busting bombs it is highly unlikely that Iran's nuclear capability will be stopped. Slowed yes, stopped no. And I suspect Israel just handed the darkest Iranian hard liners the opportunity to actually push toward a dirty bomb that can be smuggled into Haifa or some port and exact revenge by killing thousands, sickening tens of thousands more for life and making a huge area radioactively contaminated for decades. They don't need missiles that are vulnerable to capable air defenses nor a large number of warheads to release nuclear terrorism.

That is what I thought and am wondering why media is not talking about that. As I recall it was verifiable.

It is simply beyond the pale.
we nuked two cities in Japan, firebombed Dresden. But that was after years of declared wars and known war crimes by the aggressor fascist / military governments. And we instantly started second guessing the decision to do those things.

Specifically, Mount Tochal, a prominent peak within the Alborz, is very close to the city. Mount Damavand, the highest peak in Iran, is only 42 miles northeast of Tehran.
So, exactly WHERE are these people supposed to go? Is this a threat of conventional or nuclear attack by this ignorant, murderous moron?

Iran can toss some blind missiles and a few will get through. Israel already controls the airspace.
Worry about the USA being drawn into the war. What will be the aftermath?
Reportedly, Pakistan has threatened to nuke Israel. Probably a hollow threat as well.

(5,172 posts)The US Air Force has broadcast two encrypted emergency codes, typically utilized for crucial military communications, sometimes pertaining to nuclear command and control.
The initial Emergency Action Message (EAM) was aired on Saturday, exhibiting a complexity far beyond the standard signals that usually span around 30 characters.
snip
A subsequent communication was issued on Sunday, this time extending to 290 characters, again through the US Air Force's High Frequency Global Communications System, reports the Mirror US.
snip
"An Emergency Action Message (EAM) is a coded U.S. military communication, often for nuclear command or critical operations, sent via the High Frequency Global Communications System," Grok AI clarified for users.
"It could signal a complex operation or be a routine test, as both are common. Without decryption or official statements, its significance remains speculative."

I'm surprised they've lasted this long. I would think

(392 posts)The fatal flaw of authoritarianism is that the leaders whims are realized. Changing the Kennedy Centers agenda to show that the Right likes the right kind of art or music is one thing, but creating a nuclear crisis is quite another. Trump loves to play the extortionist against weaker opponents, bullying and blustering until he gets some result. The very best scenario is that hes doing that now. But it looks more likely that Trump himself is being extorted by Netanyahu and he is simply not qualified to deal with it.
