The strangest thing this account does is claim to be communicating in code with its "coalition".
More on the coalition later.

As many have pointed out, these are reminiscent of Q-drops, where secret ambiguous messages are inexplicably released to the public in the age of email. You can read more here: https://www.bellingcat.com/news/americas/2021/01/29/the-qanon-timeline/?post_id=31617

What is this coalition? Here they subtly imply that it might be made up of 100,000 federal employees. They also claim that their movement started as Park Rangers.
4/x.
The latest count I could find claimed the coalition had 200k members. This photo is presented as what the coalition can accomplish. The reader might believe its a photo from the altnps. It is, however, a photo from the Associated Press as seen on CNN: https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-tariffs-news-04-05-25
5/x.
On facebook the altnps account claimed that 140k of its coalition members attended the No Kings protests. Are you getting skeptical yet?
6/x.
The coalition follows the rules of fight club. Don't talk about fight club. Also, the nps website would like you to know that contacting them is not a way to join...
7/x
The coalition is claimed to be targeted relentlessly by this admin but you won't be reading anything to confirm its existence any time soon. I have been looking. 8/x.
much more at link.

(171 posts)A quick internet search will indeed verify that 88 meant love and kisses in code talk. Many of these wireless abbreviations were steno type shortcuts to communicate with brevity. They originated in the early days of wireless, and maybe even earlier. 88 was a way to acknowledge female code operators.
I think the OP was referring to the more recent 88 reference to Hitler, used by the Alt Right. Apparently the OP didnt realizes the similarity and then apologized for any interpretation other than their original intent.
I have followed alt national park service for several months now and found nothing nefarious about the account, and consider it just anther resistance account by federal employees upset over the dismantling of government by the diaper don and ketamine kid.
As Freud allegedly said, Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

(3,638 posts)for NO Kings. 11 million, to 14.5 million most recently. All well over the 8.5 million threshold associated with change of a dictatorship. But the organizing groups themselves say the turnout was over 5 million.

(39,578 posts)... just as I blocked twitter before it.
This kind of social media is mostly unactionable noise and I don't need any of these social media corporations adding me to the lists they sell just because I clicked on some DU post that includes them.
Appeals to authority, especially self-proclaimed social media authority, isn't any kind of solution to the bandwagon fallacy.
Most of the internet is being used to sell stuff and 95% of that stuff is crap.
Theodore Sturgeon was talking about genres of fiction, but it's easily extensible to commerce, politics, and religion too.
So far as I know from their website alt.national.parks is a place that sells stickers and t-shirts. I don't know what Hypoautonomic, BS is promoting.
