Noem was approved just five days after President Donald Trumps inauguration in January. Seven Democrats had joined Republicans in a 5934 vote. They hoped for constructive, bipartisan leadership at the time.
Now, they are disappointed by their decision.
"I'm very disappointed. I'm very disappointed in her," Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) told NBC. If I were voting on her today, I definitely wouldn't vote for her," he added.
Sen. Andy Kim (D-N.J.) echoed this sentiment.
"She's weaponizing the Department of Homeland Security. She is taking so many actions right now that are making us less safe and going against a lot of the things that she said that she was going to focus on," Kim said Wednesday. "So I have no confidence in her leadership right now," he said, per the NBC report.

Jesus! We could have told you that was going to happen. The witch weaponizes everything! She shoots dogs, for crying out loud!
I'm ashamed that you are Democrats. We deserve better!

(11,956 posts)The signs of who and what Kristie Noem is/was were perfectly obvious, another Trump lackey who was itching to abuse whatever authority she was given.
There was no appeasing Agent Orange in the past and certainly not in the present. Everyone heard his plans regarding mass deportations.
Unfortunately, regret is useless at this point.

(8,101 posts)Constructive, bipartisan? Again, I think some Dems believe this is the 1987 Republican Party. This is NOT your fathers Republicans and we need to start acting like that.

(4,447 posts)Anyone with sense knew she wasnt qualified for any position anywhere.
Thats not poltical bias, thats just a fact.
The only person marginally qualified for their position was Rubio. And even that was something of a stretch.

(35,437 posts)Andy Kim made that vote as former Congressman - I hope he's learning he's now carried by Newark and Jersey City and so he can just be a Liberal now.

She wasn't suited to be governor of South Dakota.

(17,484 posts)And if they thought voting to confirm her would lead to "constructive bipartisan leadership" as the article says, they are hopelessly ignorant and incompetent. There was absolutely no reason to have ever believed such a thing.
