(67,055 posts)... it in. I want to be there when ICE shows up. We were at a friend's restaurant this morning, he had a father and two of his kids there. The all work hard, speak beautiful English and have the proper documentation - which means not a thing to the fascists in our streets.
I wish we could set up a "minute man" phone trees to be able to stop more of these illegal kidnappings.

(1,570 posts)I used to volunteer at a community theatre. One year, they decided to do Dickens " Christmas Carol". The director and actor playing the Ghost of Christmas Past decided that part of the ghosts thing was that before it and Ebenezer started moving into the past, the ghost would blow glitter at him. Those of the employees who worked maintenance swore for years afterward they were still vacuuming up that damn glitter!

are the "peaceful tourists" who invaded the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump didn't pardon and release them out of the goodness of his heart!
So, their facial recognition photos are on file with the FBI!
Hence-THE MASKS AND NO I.D.

(18,623 posts)them any taking them (who knows where). I personally believe that if they were real federal employees that they would look different. That at least they would have US Gov license plates. They they would have some degree of uniformity to their dress, vehicles and armament.
Even the people on the same "raiding party" are dressed differently. The only thing that looks the the same are the vehicles in the raid. Not across raids but in the individual raid.
I could be totally wrong, but nothing looks like a government operation. I think my little 5 man sheriffs office deputies would look more organized and professional.

(2,577 posts)... that "Nosveratu" Miller had the pick of the litter from the Proud Boys, and chose actual ICE members for their malice, brutality, and diseased political beliefs. Hiding behind masks, and refusing to identify themselves with badges or uniforms is an essential part of the terror they quite purposefully want to instill in everyone, not just those who aren't white enough.
According to his uncle, that evil fuck was literally born a monster, and has to be taken off the board ASAP, and get his narrow ass tossed in El Salvador, never to be seen or heard from again.

(6,141 posts)this to happen in our streets? It's against so many Amendments, I lost count. Not to mention, LE always has to announce itself. This is so far outside the law that even the dominionist scotus can't agree...
Masksed, unmarked, men grabbing men and women off the streets and whisked away to who knows where? If we shoot one, we should be able to declare "Stand your Ground" on basis of fear of death from unknown individuals.

DENVERPOPS
(13,003 posts)the contents of your local restaurant's grease trap, put it in like water type balloons, and throw them at the ICE, etc.
You will need to be in a hazmat suit, on positive air pressure to fill them, and then throw away the hazmat suit when done filling them.....
When you throw them, make sure you are upwind. If you can hit a group of ProMAGAot demonstrators you get bonus points.
ProfessorGAC
(73,663 posts)Grease is an environmental not chemical problem.
You won't need the hazmat suit.
Maybe a respirator because it stinks to high heaven.
But, it's not a highly toxic substance.
Which makes your idea even better, because using those balloons isn't threatening to the health of the target. So, it's a major inconvenience but not assault with intent to do bodily harm.
DENVERPOPS
(13,003 posts)if you have never experienced it, is beyond nauseous.......and the smell is nearly impossible to wash out of your hair, skin, clothes, leather boots, etc

(12,470 posts)I've heard it said that glitter is the herpes of craft supplies. I know from experience that glitter sticks around for ages. The tops that the women wear in our singing group have glitter on them. They still look good at 10 yrs out, but are still shedding noticeable glitter!

Glitter is fun. Herpes is not. Are there other chronic health conditions that it is OK to joke about?
I am not ignoring this because I am hoping to raise awareness about how callous this statement can come across to people who have this nasty virus.

(1,859 posts)If we can do that, maybe they won't be so fast to go full occupation as the glitter can be replaced.

(3,699 posts)Glitter is made of plastic coated in metal, so it's a source of microplastics. It's harmful to the environment, to tiny organisms living in the soil, as well as to our oceans.
But scientists are studying a new safer version made from cellulose nanocrystals. So far it's promising, not harming soil organisms.
