From this point forward, it's a waste of time for WH correspondents

to ask TSF for information and his views on any particular matter.

Because he lied/lies.

Can't be more blatant. He said he needed two weeks to see if Iran would be ready to negotiate. And 48 hours (or so) later, he bombed that country.

It's obvious that he has no credibility.

Iranians know US capabilities as well as anyone. The Air Force could just as easily strike from the west, from bases inside the US. If that was an attempt at subterfuge, it's pretty weak for a number of reasons.

On the other hand, saying you're giving them 2 weeks and then just bombing the shit out of them 48 hours later is a different story. That's being a lying asshole. And the worst thing about that is we can't be trusted anymore. The diplomatic option now and in future situations is shot to hell. No one will believe us, so the only option left is force. By being a fucking cowboy, Donnie just made us less safe. Good job, dumbass.

They allow him to use that access as a cudgel when there is no news value to a seat in that room.

It would be better if they all thumbed their noses at the WH press events, if the events were announced to a room empty of legitimate news sources, and the real reporters used that time to get the real story.

So that's war number 1. How many more do you think he'll start? I bet before he dies the US will be as poor as North Korea and be in at least 5 wars

All hail the demented orange balding pedophile in the white house. A perfect symbol of late stage capitalism.

The Israel/Iran war started on June 13th. The US bombed Iran on June 22. The US has fallen to Israel 's demands and this is not right. Was the retaliation against the US ever considered? Iran does have some big allies like China and Russia.

Deep penetrating munitions and the ability to get them to target. But the Iranians aren't stupid. What could be relocated and dispersed was already dispersed. Iranians have been planning for this potential outcome since Obama was in the White House. The Air Force may very well have blown the shit out of a nearly empty site. Plus, Fordow is massive. Not dissimilar to the old NORAD base in Cheyenne Mountain. Rendering it "destroyed" would take more than one flight of B-2's.

So other than destroying US credibility, this is a whole lot of bullshit.

Being trusted to keep your word is one of, if not the most important point in diplomacy. In a single stroke, Donnie the Dumbass just blew all that up, pun intended. That severely limits our options now and in the future, making the US much less safe. No one will believe us anymore. Maybe ever. "Giving me 2 weeks? I don't believe you. Diplomacy is off the table."

In October 1962, the fact that the Kennedy administration could be trusted to do exactly what they said they'd do is one of the reasons I'm able to type this. The world didn't end in a nuclear holocaust. The importance of trust cannot be overstated in international affairs. We're now a rogue state, no different than North Korea. But the magats probably think that's a good thing. Such fools on so many levels.

Most of my HS students are doing good to read for "the gist."

Making their lives harder is that they're trained on literature, with supports--so there's review if they miss something, things are redundant with foreshadowing and flashbacks, characters asking for confirmation and a narrator setting things up to encourage understanding (or, at times, misdirection, depending on genre).

That means a lot of people aren't really set up for close reading.

Here's a link that goes a bit screwball and is condescending, I think, even to its intended audience, but it's intensely clear when it's right.

Shame? Really? And which Donnie blathering are you close reading and holding him to? It changes by the hour. Hell, even he doesn't realize what he's just said half the time, nor does he have any intention of sticking to anything he does remember if it suits his purposes not to.

A similar take as mine...

As late as Thursday, he’d suggested that Iran’s leaders would have up to two more weeks to negotiate. But at that point, he had already made up his mind: The United States was going to bomb Iran.

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/06/trump-israel-iran-bomb/683275/

Right, wrong or indifferent, the US can no longer be trusted diplomatically.

IIRC, bush said we'd attack Iraq on a certain day, and attacked earlier. I'm not a military expert, but I think this is used as a ploy to surprise the country about to be reduced to rubble.

Given their propensity to rote parrot propaganda out of Trump’s mouth, it’s obviously deliberate on their part at this point. Someone would have to be a complete idiot to believe anything Trump says.
