Be sure to send a thank you note to

Jon Stewart, George Clooney, Rob Reiner, Bill Maher, Jake Tapper, Michael Moore and everyone who publicly trashed President Biden last year.

Also, send one to Susan Sarandon and Eddie Glaude for telling people not to vote for Hillary Clinton in 16. Plus a gift basket to Jill Stein.

At some point we have to come together….Democrats, moderate Republicans, Independents….
and attempt to save what we have left of our country, it’s institutions and core values.

My “thank you note” would be reserved for the feckless Republicans in Congress and various Trump enablers.

But if you’re taking orders, I’d like to send a basket of rotten fruit to the Roberts court.

they all contributed to helping Trump get elected. Being an apologist for rich, elitist media celebrities is not critical thinking.

The onus for the Dems loss in 2024 rests on one man’s shoulders, and it ain’t George Clooney’s.

As do I.

So what’s to apologize for?

They are not doctors so they didn’t know if he was fit for not.

And who is this all powerful person who is solely responsible for democrats losing the election? Please enlighten us.

…not taking the bait.

Been here 20 years, long enough not to fall for that one.

Guess you’ll have to remain in the dark…all though I bet if you ask around, everyone else has figured it out by now.

13. Pick your preferred AG

How would the outcome have been any different with the corrupt Roberts court in place?

Same obstruction, same delays, same immunity, same outcome - no trial before the election.

If he had been agressive as he should have been, the information would be overwhelming and I think tsf would be in jail now.

How would another AG have overcome the obstruction, delays, and immunity imposed by the Roberts court, and go to trial before the election?

“More aggressive” is not an answer based in reality.

If Trump had lost the election, then yes, perhaps we’d be following one or more of his trials right now.

But he didn’t lose, and that’s nothing Garland had any control over.

I'd have picked her for AG. Since she wasn't available, I'd say Elizabeth Warren, or Rep Raskin - someone who was in the Capitol on Jan. 6 and understood the stakes.

How would your preferred AG have circumvented the obstruction, delays and immunity imposed by the Roberts court to ensure a trial occurred before the election.

“Be more aggressive” is not a serious answer - the courts hold all the cards and authority regarding the scheduling of trials- an AG/DOJ can only make motions, which can be denied.

So how do imagine your Super Aggressive AG would prevail?

27. In my scenario, she (or he) becomes AG in late January 2021
Sun Jun 22, 2025, 10:14 PM

this is before the 2nd Senate trial: that didn't start until the beginning of February 2021. McConnell goes ahead with his statement that Donnie should be tried in the courts: the new AG jumps on this. And keeps on it: even if Roberts decides to punt, the government presents evidence that Trump was involved in planning the insurgency and that doesn't go away - the DoJ doesn't let it get brushed over while going for the low-hanging fruit. In my scenario, the AG is more aggressive about prosecuting Donnie for taking classified documents home with him, and more aggressive about finding and trying the people who were filmed assaulting police.

(non sequitur: I read recently that experienced fruit pickers go for the higher hanging fruit first, since it's easier to pick the ones higher up in the trees while the basket is still light and nearly empty, then pick up the rest as they go down)

By “more aggressive” I presume you mean quicker to indict- which would dramatically raise the odds for acquittal or dismissal, and still doesn’t overcome the obstruction, delays and immunity provided by the Roberts court - no AG would have had the power to do so.

I’m guessing you didn’t follow the docs case too closely, and don’t know the difference between, and evidentiary requirements for charging and convicting, for unlawful possession, removal or retention, of National Defense Information, the latter of which is what Trump was eventually charged with.
