Should we consider repeal of the First Amendment if it is found that

violent movies/music/games, etc, have motivated or induced a significant portion of murderers who use guns to kill to take such actions?

If considering (or demanding as some are) repeal of the Second Amendment in order to reduce or prevent future such tragedies and to put a real dent in gun related homicide in the US, would it not make just as much sense to repeal the First Amendment if it is shown that such a move might diminish gun violence in the US?

Are there other parts of the Constitution we should seek to eliminate that might also make us all safer?

On edit: While some are calling for a repeal of the Second Amendment, others are calling for stricter regulations on guns as a means to save lives.

Should we look to stricter regulations on speech and expression if the case can be made that it would save lives?

One can regulate without abolishing.

Gawd I am so sick and tired of these NRA talking points.

I'm asking questions about what other actions could be taken if that one makes sense.

If you are sick from reading my post or this thread, you have options to remove it from your sight.

WHERE?

I know all I'll get is crickets because it is an NRA talking point and nothing more...except a strawman argument for NRA-supporting DUers.

but, yes, freedom of religion is not absolute either, but falls to our laws when the two are in conflict. Have you not heard of parents charged and convicted for failing to seek medical care for their dying child in lieu of prayer? Are you unaware that there have been convictions of Muslims in this country for the "honor" killings of their daughters?

The OP was referring to video games among others. The Supreme court has ruled against regulation of video games due to the 1st.

Freedom of speech and expression is the cornerstone of a democracy. The freedom to own guns is not. Many democracies do fine without a right to own guns, none survive without freedom of speech and expression.
