Every day I say that things can't get any worse

And every day things get worse!
It started with the pandemic, I think - no, it was always there
We did have a bit of relief at times
But then things got worse.

Every day I come here hoping for some reprieve - some good news.
But every day things get worse.

We've been quibbling a bit with each other about this and that.
Issues that are surely important, but the most important is saving our nation from complete destruction.
Every day gets me closer to existential despair.

But I'll employ the strategy that I gave my children when they were feeling this despair.
Yes, kids do experience it and I thank my lucky stars that I have such a relationship that we can talk about it.

Live every day for the moment.
Do what you can do to make things better, but don't take it on as a personal burden,
Notice tiny miracles - like a seed sprouting, or your cat not vomiting on the carpet.

Acknowledge the importance of community.
Bottom line, it is so important to support each other, hear each other and consider others' viewpoints.
Survival is going to be a team effort.

Thank you DU

Your whole last paragraph:

“Acknowledge the importance of community.
Bottom line, it is so important to support each other, hear each other and consider others' viewpoints.
Survival is going to be a team effort.
