(5,842 posts)Because now we'd see if there is in fact a new Joe Scarborough on this issue as the NRA did exactly in their "presser" what he said would be death for them.
By Wednesday I'm sure there will be a new outrage to pontificate over.

(17,180 posts)They can choose to be an organization that supports responsible gun owners, hunters, and people who want to protect their families, or they can be the organization that supports survivalists and other nutjobs. (I'm paraphrasing, obviously.) He went on to say that if they choose wrong, they'll pay a heavy price.

(269,020 posts)and we know that silence is consent. Joe Scum is a classic ReTHUG hypocrite. I don't trust him for a moment.
He's merely pushing himself as the moderate solution.
Joe's angle of criticism serves Joe's shallow motives and nothing more. Joe SCUM should never be trusted ever!

(17,180 posts)He went on to point out that so long as we're blaming video games or Hollywood, it's all okay, but as soon as GUNS come into the conversation, all of a sudden it's being POLITICIZED...
It fit in well with his earlier comment when he mentioned that he'd talked to an old political friend about it, and the friend said he couldn't comment until today's NRA news conference. Joe was stunned that a third party was holding dominance over his friend's personal convictions.
Today, anyway, he sounds almost like US. Maybe the world DID end as we knew it.

This will be one of the few times I agree with Joe, but I'm backing him 100% on this issue. That idiot Tea-Nazi congressman is having his ass handed to him in tatters.

(30,404 posts)It's about time some body in the Rethug media told the truth.
Was I dreaming or did I hear that Rush was mad at the Rethugs for something?

(2,679 posts)I gave him a cookie on monday when while he was in the mist of awaking from is right wing slumber and slammed the nra mentioned mental health but still wanted to push violent games and the liberal hollywood as the evil and root cause of the massacre.
Well f@#% Joe you can have my whole bag of Christmas Oreos! That was an awesome exchange he just had. A hell Joe you can have the other bag of oreos I got cause it was buy one get one free at Publix.
Thank you Joe!

(223 posts)he lied about his constituents being affected by the $1M tax....the average income in his district is $35K
he lied that there have been no cuts in a decade
he lied that there were no offers from any cuts
people in Kansas need to wake up about who they elected!!!!

(58,162 posts)NOT!

(2,730 posts)he was out of the loop, since he left his Party. That is how most people vote in Kansas though. Palin,Allen, and Akins types are the norm in the GOP these days. Ronald Reagan and Joe are out of Date.

(966 posts)These so called "conservatives" are so far to the right, they wouldn't vote for something even if Ronald Reagan rose from the dead and told them to vote for it!

(38,506 posts)He seems to be more moderate now. I kinda like him. Better than the old days, when he was a smarmy righty.
graham4anything
(11,464 posts)he hasn't changed
he simply knows that unless they want to lose everything, they have to give something up and quick
so it makes him seem better
but it is a ruse
(to paraphrase myself)
he want to only give 10% instead of 100% of 100%
It's the reason Jeb will be the nominee in 2016
looking sane is a rarity in the repub party and while the leaders of the tea/repub/lib are all way rightwing, the voters are not
the voters have constantly told congress they hate what they are doing
(and I just wish those that berate Obama without looking at the big picture realize you are playing into the Scarboroughs and Jeb's of the world

(7,960 posts)This congresscritter we just saw is the heart and soul of the GOP. No compromises. No governing. Just say no.
Bluenorthwest
(45,319 posts)scene so vicious. Joe IS the Republicans. One of their most extreme mouthpieces and a former elected official. For such people 'blasting' their own is just theatrics, the only meaningful action is a change of Parties.
Joe is just playing his role in his Party, as are those he is 'blasting'.
goclark
(30,404 posts)he didn't have to say any of the things against his party but he DID IT.
As much as I enjoyed having OBAMA win - the Rethug candidates were so "owned" by the Teaparty types, they dug their own graves.
What's better for America -- in my view, it would be someone that each party run candidates that want AMERICA to Be BEAUTIFUL.
