Ive reading that the hicks and the hillbillies, the rubes and the rednecks didnt understand that the BBBs Medicaid cuts would affect them because the various states have program names that dont include the name, Medicaid.
Washington States Medicaid program is called Apple Health, but I thought everyone knew that it is the Medicaid program.
The DCCC needs to shout it from the rooftops throughout the 2026 Campaign season that the cuts are coming, and that it will be the Republicans fault. Use the names of each individual state program. Make the message stick.

(9,381 posts)In fact, let us spend less time telling Democrats what they should be doing -- when, in fact, often they are already doing what has been suggested, but some aren't aware because of the corporate media I just mentioned -- and more time doing what we propose ourselves, to our friends, families, neighbors, community, etc. that have been misled by Republican propaganda for decades now.
If we rely on corporate media filters to get our message through, we won't get our message through.
And if those closest to us won't listen to us, there's zero chance they will listen to anything that the Democratic Party puts out in terms of mass messaging.

(2,124 posts)I think they had the same issue with the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Amazingly, it appears that a lot of people didnt know they were on it, in part undoubtedly due to name changes in different states. I wonder if billboards would help spread the message.

(14,977 posts)They love the ACA but hate Obamacare. They love TennCare (or whatever the other states name it) but don't care if Medicaid gets cut because Medicaid is for the losers. I agree that the name of each individual state's program should be used. I don't know the vehicle for this information would be or how you get them to believe it.
I've talked to so many people about what is going on with politics. Yes, I'm in a red area. Without exception, they tell me the following in the exact same words: "Kamala isn't very smart. I don't watch anything on the news anymore. I don't believe anything. Joe Biden is a crook." Clearly they are watching and listening to and believing the propaganda, and their sources are the same. The "I don't believe anything" defense is particularly hard to get through.
