One cop for every public meeting place in America?????
Is it only the children we should be worrying about?
The whole thing is so ridiculous on its face.
The answer is banning guns that can kill hundreds of innocent people in less than a minute.
That is the only solution.

(9,933 posts)Because local government and police aren't facing cuts and downsizing in this economy. I didn't realize the NRA supported the idea of a police state and wanted to hire so many more public sector union members (police.)

(51,457 posts)on duty. You know we can all then feel as safe as prisoners must feel being surrounded by armed guards 24/7. Just the kind of place that I never want to see again!

Nope, not I. The entire idea is repulsive to me. As I assume it is to you.
I would rather live with the danger than move toward that type of police state.

(41,984 posts)The Wide World of the NRA exists in is a terrifying place. Guns also don't stop home-made bombs or chemical attacks or someone slipping arsenic in the Tylenol you buy. Regulation stops that, or at least makes it much harder.
These people are sad, sick and, as you say, ridiculous.
