from the gop/proj2025 big ugly law later.
Much appreciated if DU'ers post brand new disaster numbers or corrections.
These are current counts by Google AI with sourcing.

(41,174 posts)But right now, we're looking at deaths that could have been much lower if not completely prevented by keeping governmental air traffic, weather, and other safety systems in place.

(41,174 posts)As far as I'm concerned, and as things go forward, keeping a total death count on poorly handled disasters can be attributable at the very least to being "on his watch."

(7,100 posts)Wish we could get a website with a counter similar to the national debt with this data.
Deaths from termination of USAID will be staggering, but getting confirmed data would be difficult.
Here's something similar re the national debt... https://www.usdebtclock.org/index.html
I think it used to be USAID that was our only source of numbers of people helped, and there's no way of knowing the actual deaths directly resulting from USAID's withdrawal, because people helped doesn't automatically equate with people now not helped, numbers which likely grow with growing refugee populations, anyway.
These days, if we keep numbers at all, we only have credibility within and outside our country when we stick to our own numbers as reported and confirmed by journalists.
