Re: Attempts to shut down criticism of gov response time to flooding.

So on Facebook I had a little tuffle with people who felt that a post giving credit to Mexico for helping Texas after the flooding was politizing the issue. It went downhill from there. I was shocked by how strongly they resorted to a call for decency in a time of grief.

But it got me to thinking. We are not a united country. Their side turns a blind eye whenever something terrible happens to someone outside their political circle. So, a call for decency is not the appropriate response. It only silences criticism and information that can be used to prevent the tragedy from occurring again.

So, here is what I see. Their desire for silence is offensive to the people who died and their survivors. If I were one of them, I wouldn’t be looking for a pat on the back, “There, there.” I would be furious and demand answers. I would want people by my side who could understand that level of anger and who would stand by my side to get those answers.

In the end, those who try to silence us to keep us from asking the hard questions serve no one but themselves. They’re certainly not helping the survivors and the victims. I think as soon as we put that opinion in the mainstream consciousness, that it will be easier to properly look for answers to prevent the tragedies from occurring again.

We are “treated” to their see no evil 🙈 hear no evil 🙉 speak no evil 🙊 bullshit 💩refrain after every senseless tragedy that could have been avoided, or the human toll significantly lessened, by government policies they rabidly and vociferously opposed. It is as another poster pointed out in another thread exactly the tactic the old Soviet Union and other totalitarian regimes employed and employ to deflect all responsibility for their murderous choices. These bastards will do anything and employ any tactic so they are never held accountable. Enough 😡No one should let them stop us from having these desperately needed conversations as that’s the only way to ensure this cycle of bloody stupidity ends. ✊🏼

What maga and the piece of shit are doing has nothing to do with politics, it’s murderous fascism and dictatorship.

Mexico helping us when there’s no reason why they should has nothing to do with politics, but because they have no clue how to be decent people they don’t understand that.

that I thought were possibly valid - but should wait until the bodies are cold. That said, asking pertinent questions about
how things were supposed to work, why they didn't - and examining break downs in communication are the right thing to
ask about because it puts elected officials on notice.
