I had to take my daughter for a medical appointment today. It was a few miles from where she lives but between picking her up, waiting for her, driving her home and driving myself home I was in the car for about 4 hours, sometimes just riding to the nearby malls and just sitting in the shade listening to the radio. I skim around the radio when driving trying to catch the latest new, music etc. The entire time I was captive to the radio, every talk station, news station had either Trump or Johnson, Noem, Bondi or some other Trump sycophant on telling how wonderful Trump agenda was, how great he was doing with immigration, and foreign policy, how he has done what no other President has done in such a short time and how he will prove to be the greatest President in our history, how his base is loyal, how bad the Biden administration was, how the 2020 election was stolen and a slew of other lies and half-truths. All of this was packed in to the entire time I was in my car. Not one Dem was on the air or talk show to refute anything or at least to get out our message. I can see how the GOP can persuade the captive audiences driving to and from jobs, schools, and sports events. They all had their script down. The radio crowd is the crowd that seldom gets polled because they are driving.

Super listener - until he died. But I still listen to Sirius Urban Radio.

We have a sound bar and the Sirius app on our KitchFamily room tv. We stopped watching Morning Joe in the morning and listen to Urban Radio instead.

Black folks listen to talk radio. It's made me a bit of an extremist. But at least I don't pal.around with or vote for Pedos.

Please, I get either a sports station or the oldies station.
My “new” car takes CD’s (I have lots of them) instead of tapes (that pickup was 20 years old)
AND I have a bunch of ancient ipods (little one has a click-wheel!) loaded with great music.

And phones, of course, get internet stations (kind of in and out in the hills here) but also store songs permanently. I got me a 2018 without all those streaming music services. I am fine with that.

And I live in the reddest part of CA.

6. If we ever . . .

take back the reigns of power, we need to force through a more expansive version of the Fairness Doctrine and reform SCOTUS. No had wringing, no "that's not fair", no reaching across the aisle. Just do it. Nothing will change while we have such a lopsided media and a Supreme Court that is a rubber stamp for right wing fascism.

Many listeners feel some kind of validation due to their own less than functioning brain. The powers that be did a big look into education back in the very early 20th century around the time Carnegie was building all the libraries. They decided to have a low general education level, just enough for factories and typing pools, and not a broad base high education that might drive development and social progress but also higher taxes and limits on the most wealthy. 11. I listened to talk radio just once.

I was new to town and searching for something for my drive to work. I landed on Rush Limbaugh for about 2 minutes. He was complaining about Chelsea Clinton's looks. A child no less. I have disliked the man ever since and celebrated his passing.
His dislike for Democrats was endless.
His lies were the seeds he planted.
His style on radio was copied and expanded.
