1. Do they still sell toy guns in toy stores for kids to play with?
2. TSA doesn't allow travelers to take guns on a plane. Gun owners seem to go along with that. Why?
3. What happened to the gun marshals that are supposed to be on flights? Are they still around? Who is paying for them?
4. I know as a traveler I got frightened when I landed at the airport in Rome and saw armed guards with Uzi's all around the airport. And the time I was in Caracas where military with machine guns patrolled the streets. Both incidents were before 9/11. How will kids react to armed guards in their schools? I'd be freaked if I were them and wouldn't want to go to school.
5. LaPierre blamed everyone and everything except guns and if you were listening carefully that even parents. Have we had any of the Newtown parents weighing in on his Presser yet.
6. Kudos to the protesters that interrupted his speach. They were the only ones that made sense.

Anyone can check a gun on a flight (you just have to declare it). To carry it on the plane you have to be law enforcement or military flying on orders (and even if you're military flying on orders your orders often specify you have to check your weapon).

They're still around. The airlines pay for them, ultimately. I think they're on like 3% of flights, more or less randomly. It's "Air Marshals", incidentally.

I lived in Switzerland for a couple of years as a kid. I got used to people standing around with military weapons (the attitude there is basically "those guns are here to protect us" . Maybe it's a question of what you're used to. Maybe getting used to having guns around is bad, or good. I don't know.

Not that I've seen.

I'm always worried when the form of a protest is louder than its content, but that was at least awesome to watch.
