Ok, were our congresscritter out to lunch during science class?

Do they not understand that record arctic ice melting would have an impact on global weather patterns?
Can they not connect the dots? Hurricane Sandy, Typhoon Bopha and Cyclone Evan... storms growing larger and stronger year after year... sea water levels growing faster than projected... Yet they do nothing to prepare.

There is mounting evidence that our world is going to break pretty soon... at least to the point were shorelines are going to shift, temperate zone will change and the ability of our atmosphere to filter sunshine and recycle our air... and the change is expensive.

When are we going to wake up and smell the coffee?
Oil pipelines and oil sands are not the answer.
Windmills, solar power, increasing plant life and decreasing population is. That's just for starters.
When the earth makes the change, it won't care if we are here or how many of us are there. The more of us here, the sooner it will happen. We are the instrument of our own demise. It is our nature to use up a resource completely and move on. We are sealing our own fate if we don't take steps to prevent it. We have to limit our population - which limits energy useage, waste production and resource depletion. We have to understand that we are but residents on a living host... our planet. If we don't start taking care if it, we will get evicted... violently
