Justice Dept. finishes second day of Ghislaine Maxwell interviewPresident Trump said he was not considering granting clemency to Maxwell, a former associate of Jeffrey Epstein.
An attorney for Maxwell said she answered every single question posed by Todd Blanche, the deputy attorney general. Blanche finished his interview with her early Friday afternoon, the lawyer said, adding that Maxwell did not seek or agree to any deal with the Trump administration.
We havent asked for anything, the attorney, David Oscar Markus, told reporters after the interview Friday. Theres been no asks and no promises.
Speaking to reporters earlier in the day, Trump was asked if he would grant Maxwell a pardon or commute her sentence. He said he had not considered it. Its something I havent thought about. Its really its not recommended, he said. Its something Im allowed to do, but its something I have not thought of.

When Donald Trump said "It's a hoax" in reference to questions about Jeffrey Epstein or associated conspiracies, he was typically deflecting or dismissing claims linking him to Epsteins crimes or broader allegations of elite involvement in sex trafficking.
He often used the word "hoax" as a rhetorical tool to discredit politically damaging narratives such as:
the Russia investigation ("Russia hoax"
his two impeachments ("impeachment hoax"
and media reports he labeled as "fake news."
In the case of Epstein, Trump has been asked about:
his past friendship with Epstein,
photos of them together,
and allegations that Epstein had damaging information on high-profile figures.
By saying "it's a hoax," Trump was likely implying that:
1. Allegations connecting him personally to Epsteins crimes were false;
2. Media coverage or investigations around the topic were politically motivated attacks;
3. Conspiracy theories (like Epstein being murdered to protect powerful people) were unfounded.
