Interesting take on "Insane Wayne" performance

"The National Rifle Association does not exist to offer sensible public policy or participate in conversations or pretend to be sensitive about tragedies. The National Rifle Association exists to assist the manufacturers of guns and gun-related accoutrements in selling guns and gun-related accoutrements to people. That is their job, summed up, in its entirety."

1. I've said that for years and been consistently jumped on for it

but it's been painfully obvious for a long time that the NRA is a dues funded manufacturers' lobbying and advertising group.

They sure as hell never listen to their membership, 70% of whom responded that they were in favor of sensible gun control legislation even before the Sandy Hook massacre.

That 70% needs to stop paying their dues, period. That's the only way to get the attention of the as yet unresponsive idiots heading the organization.

and it's been that way as long as I can remember. More guns are always the answer because it's more profits. They whip their membership into a frenzy in order to enrich the gun industry. It's about money; the rest is subterfuge.

With 100,000 public schools, plus private schools, colleges, etc., the idea of armed guards is simply the idea od selling lots of guns and giving jobs and pensions to gun-loving rednecks.

That is why I dumped them over twenty years ago. They are a political machine bent on selling more guns.
Every democratic president has been accused of coming after our guns!
hasn't happened yet, but that meme keeps coming around..

The NRA wants you angry and afraid and running to a gun store, pawn shop, gun show and buy, buy ,buy.

11. Could it be Wayne has become indifferent to loss of life?

If the mass shooting of twenty young children has not tugged at his heart then there is not any hope for this group or its members. The mass killing has happened too often and too many killed in each occurrence, this has infringed on our right to life and the gun lovers are out of control. It would have been nice if Wayne had said his group will focus on training of gun lovers but he must think their right to possess rapid fire weapons is the most important. The gun shows are out of control and will sell to anyone with the money.
