There is a representative city just across the American border that proves more guns

is not the answer. If anyone has read Murder City: Ciudad Juarez and the Global Economy's New Killing Fields by Charles Bowden it exposes the ridicules numbers involved. Nearly 23,000 people have been killed in drug-related violence in Mexico since a US-backed military crackdown on cartels began more than three years ago. 2009 was the deadliest year in the drug war, with over 9,600 people killed. We know today from the headless corpses and other atrocities that things are no better now. There is also an HBO documentary involving photographer Eros Hoagland and Michael Mann that you can see on demand now. It's called Witness: Juárez . Eros has done a series of these kinds of documentaries also in Iraq, Afghanistan and Haiti.

The point was made in the documentary by Charles Bowden that in Juárez there had been 19,000 Mexican citizens killed and 100 policeman since the drug war came to Juárez. He said the military and police were virtually around every corner and had road blocks all over the city yet there was all of this murder going on constantly. The police had weapons of all types yet the criminals and drug gangs have not been stopped. It's also the economy. Major American corporations have manufacturing there but the workers are paid an average of $65.00 a week. People who need to make a decent living deal drugs. He said that was how it was. This shows that the corporate world is feeding the killing along with the gun manufacturers.

We do not need guns in school. We do not need people carrying weapons openly all the time everywhere. We are on our way with the way unions are being busted and corporations continue to choke hold us all and if the GOP ever gets it's way.

who you are. Really. That is what the NRA wants. Guns for everyone all the time. It's time to stop kidding ourselves. The dead children don't care what the politics are.
