Shouldn't school bus drivers be armed as well?

I mean if we're going to talk about arming teachers and having armed guards roaming school halls then it would only seem logical to think about other vulnerable spots. It would seem to me that the bus drivers would need to be packing some serious heat as well. Now the Sandy Hook shooter had a semi auto .223 so the drivers are going to need at least that or something even more powerful. Maybe an AK-47?

And what about snipers that might shoot from outside the bus? Maybe it's time to look at bullet proof glass on the windows as well.

Then there's the crossing guards. I figure they already have one hand holding their little stop signs. So they might need something a little more compact. An Uzi perhaps?

Of course then there's bus stops. I mean we can't have some lunatic who plays too many video games shooting our kids at the bus stops can we? Of course all these armed guards are going to get expensive. So maybe we need to look at making sure at least one kid at each bus stop is packing heat as well. Maybe train the kids on how to set up security perimeters.

Hey it's a dangerous world out there. And if the NRA really wants to go down this road then they need to go all the way!

And just in case it's needed...

Who knows when some irate teenager with an overabundance of hormones is going to flip their lid over purple tennis shoes and do some serious soul searching/releasing. Or some kid at the toy store will get possessed and start throwing blocks. Or some dude in line for Sweet Tomatoes will start gunning down bins of lettuce and pickles.

We need to prepare for these scenarios.

in prisons so they're all the guards and weaponry needed. Think of the money for the corporate prison shenanigans, and the defense contractors for all of those tanks, and the guns/sales for all of the gun manufacturers and munitions. It would be a total corporate wet dream! And the NRA could get in on it too. Aren't creative solutions just wonderful.

School nurses would be armed ..janitors next...school psychologists ....school secretaries .cafeteria workers.

What kind of guns will they carry? School districts funding shooting ranges for school officials to practice?

So all the school officials have to go under a psychology evaluation before being issued a gun.
God forbid if a school official shoots one of our kids.

So many questions.

I think it would be sufficient to arm handgun trained schoolbus drivers with .45 calibre semiautomatic weapons. That should make any assholes think twice. Mentally ill or not, it seems like most of these jackasses think twice when they're looking down the bore of one of these things. After all, .45s make a big hole. And before you ask, no, I didn't overlook your tag.

We need to ban high capacity school buses that injure many children at the same time. If there's anything this policy debate has indicated to me it's that we need more short buses.

I'm an accountant.

And you never know when you might have to pull out the piece strapped to my side and take out some bad guys.

Also, I carry a "throw-down" a small .22 in my boot top. No registration, a cheap Saturday Night Special. Never know if the criminal looking guy who walked in didn't actually have a gun and ended up on my floor and had to have a reason to be dead, well...it's right there. Throw-downs are cheap.

I'm Larry and I'm an Accountant. We like our Glocks, but I kind of really want want of those Dirty Harry Smith and Wessons. It would be soooo cooool.

But really aren't we forgetting the most important people of all, the ones most desperately in need of high powered weaponry, the children themselves?

I am calling on Congress to pass what I am calling the No Child Left act of 2012, providing a glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol and two 17 round magazines to every child in America. There is nothing more damaging to a child's self esteme than having to watch in helpless horror as a gun armed maniac blows your teachers and classmates away. Under No Child Left that won't happen, potential gunmen will go down under a tsunami of lead, and our teachers can focus their attention on what they do best.

Once you arm the schools and school busses, these guys are just going to go somewhere else. Ushers in movie theaters, mall cops, daycare workers, sunday school teachers, receptionists at government offices, receptionists at any office, fast food workers, we need sharpshooters virtually everywhere, all the time.
