1. Newt Gingrich has always been a social right-libertarian.

Nothing new here. What's new is that traditional liberalism seems to be dying in this
country: As people move left on lifestyle issues, they move right on economic issues
and civil liberties. Pretty soon we'll be in an Ayn Rand wet dream. Like in Brave New
World, we'll have unlimited rights when it comes to consumer lifestyle choices,
so long as our actions and opinions do not affect anyone else.

Why do you think gay marriage is legal but pot is not? I'd like to know where
the money for all that illegal pot goes. Into the hands of cartels, no doubt. I'm
jaded on this issue since the guy who pioneered gay marriage as an issue was
also responsible for evicting all the homeless from San Francisco.

I agree with Jesse Ventura, the gov't should get out of the marriage business.

I won't say it's a bougie obsession or anything, but I believe that common-law
marriage is more valuable than marriage sanctioned by the state.
