There should be a mandatory gun safety tax on guns AND ammo. Levy fees like we do on vehicles annually for registered guns - throw those in jail that are found to be keeping unregistered firearms. Use part of these fees to provide and insurance that would pay for medical care and reparations to victims and families of gun incidents.

It seems pretty fast for a poll on LaPierre's speech to be conducted, in fact I don't think a poll could be conducted on this speech even if it was within the proper time frame because not enough Americans would have heard it to get valid results.

Please cite the polls on LaPierre's speech that suggest Americans agree with LaPierre's stance. You may find individual proposals such as police officers in schools get substantial support in polling, but LaPierre's speech as a whole? No way in hell would LaPierre's position be embraced by the majority.

Half of American homes do not have guns, yet we are at terrible risk from the lethal weapons in our neighbors' homes. Enough! Time for us to speak out.

That's why I created a petition to The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, and President Barack Obama, which says:

"Repeal the Second Amendment Now. This anachronistic, poorly worded amendment prevents us from passing real gun control measures that will be effective in stopping the ongoing gun slaughter. It should be no more a constitutional right to own a gun than to own a car."

By the time LaPierre insisted on a national database of the mentally ill, one could be forgiven for wondering whether it should include the paranoid, delusional man himself, because his description of people “so possessed by voices and driven by demons that no sane person can possibly ever comprehend them” surely fits the hard core of the NRA.

For a split second my eyes deceived me and I saw Gollum, slobbering and weeping over a golden gun. "My Precious!"
Come to think of it, there is a strong resemblance...

I agree with Charlie Pierce (Esquire) - we need to forget about the NRA and go right after the gun manufacturers themselves. They are the ones who pay the NRA.

I want the gun industry to become the next tobacco industry.

And I especially don't trust Murdock. What are they really up to and why do I suspect that they are only kissing butt?

The political stance doesn't matter.

It is funny that they would both lean in the same way though.

This dude is dense. Besides his ridiculous ideas, for which he should be beaten, I never appreciate a $2 haircut on a weasel giving a public speech about his tiny cock essentially. Let's get gun control, like backround checks on nuts, signed into law in 2013, like Jan 1, 2013 please.
