Less than 5000 soldiers have been killed in combat from 2001 to the present in Afghanistan and Iraq. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_casualties_of_war
There are more than 8,000 killed by guns on the US streets simply going about their business every year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States#Homicides
The inescapable conclusion is that the US *IS* a combat zone.
The Government is both unwilling and incapable of doing anything about it.
Let's give them an incentive: Every US taxpaying human gets a 10% reduction in their taxes. This money is to come directly from existing Military funding as the first payout from that funding. The refunds will cease when the domestic casualties have fallen below legally sanctioned US military combat zone casualties for not less than 20 consecutive years.

And this was just going about my work day. I'm not a cop, I'm not a drug dealer, I'm not a hunter. I work with disabled kids.

Oh, and in Iraq over 100,000 innocent people were killed during that period. And in Afghanistan tens of thousands of innocent people were killed. But don't let that stop your non-sense hyperbole about how terrible you think gun crime is in America.

(7,745 posts)Maybe you want to call hyperbole and non-sense having a "brain storm". Don't expect people to agree with your non-sense.
