So, what exactly were those “meaningful contributions” to make certain events like those at

Sandy Hook never happen again that the NRA promised?

I ask seriously, because I did not hear Wayne LaPierre's entire heinous publicity stunt scoldathon. Surely they aren't trying to pass off their "Everyone Who is to Blame and Notice We're Not on It" list and their craven call for more fucking guns as "meaningful contributions," are they?

He made a speech so vile that it is likely to cause the NRA to lose some supporters, creating a weaker NRA is a meaningful contribution. Thank you Wayne LaPierre for shooting yourself in the foot.

would have opened them to billions in civil lawsuits. The "meaningful contribution" is that he did not do that. If anybody had the idea that "meaningfull contribution" meant something somehow beneficial to society, well, more fool you.

Guys like Wayne LaPierre make me miss Hitler.
