Eggs recalled after salmonella outbreak sickens nearly 100 people across 14 states
Health officials are investigating a salmonella outbreak linked to contaminated eggs that has sickened nearly 100 people in several states.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday there have been 95 reported cases of salmonella infections across 14 states, with 18 hospitalizations due to the outbreak.
Country Eggs, a company based in Lucerne Valley, Calif., issued a recall of its large brown cage-free "sunshine/omega-3 golden” yolk eggs sourced between June 16, 2025, and July 9, 2025, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Wednesday.
“Do not eat, sell, or serve recalled chicken eggs distributed by Country Eggs, LLC,” the Food and Drug Administration said. The CDC, FDA and state public health officials are currently investigating the multistate outbreak.
