Excellent podcast episode from stealth DUer Malcolm Nance. "If I Was the Democratic Leader, This is What I'd Do."

?feature=shared

Especially from 15 minutes on, and the last two minutes are absolutely electric.

They ask where is the outrage, where is the spirit of rebellion, where is the commensurate response?

They discuss the silo-ed Democratic wonks and their slavish dependence on polls, their ignoring of influencers who have millions and millions of followers on social media, and the tolerance of leaders within the ranks who are just not delivering.

They discuss the fact that those dismal polls on Democrats are largely loyal Democrats who are fed up with Democratic leaders and are desperate to connect with someone who seems to have the same concerns the rest of us do.

And THEN, they talk about concrete things that could be done about it.

He's talking to Steve Schmidt, which I'm sure will make some people post that its not worth listening to. But that only proves the point of the podcast.

I usually don't take the time to watch videos, but this one was worth it.

See you on the beach, Malcolm!

Not sure how many DUers would agree. No doubt there are those who will pooh-paw Steve Smith because he's always been a
Republican strategist, and Malcolm Nance because he's not a politician, has never run for office, and other reasons, etc.

They discussed and were critical of our current minority leaders in Congress. I tend to agree with their views, but I wonder what percent of DUers would also agree and what percent believe Chuck Schumer should be re-elected as Dem Senate leader in 2026? Underlying all of this is the sense of urgency. It seems the urgency is greater than many sense, so I have a hard time being optimistic about our party right now.

Schmidt talked about a bar burning and folks still being lined up to get a drink as the flames ignited. Our beds are burning ...

Also, they mentioned the movie Judgement at Nuremberg which is an excellent film. I agree that Schumer is just not the leader we need at this moment in time. I really don't have anything major against him, I just believe we need more of a fighter to lead us. Newsome is doing a good job of that, but we need 100 more of him.

Al Franken would have made a great Senate leader.
