A F*CKING U.S. PRESIDENT THREATENING a major U.S. city with "WAR?" Are you F*CKING KIDDING ME?

Trump threatens Department of War invasion of Chicago in menacing post

https://www.rawstory.com/chicago-2673967223/

Trump ramped up his threats to enact a federal takeover of Chicago, Illinois on Saturday after sharing an image on social media depicting an AI-generated version of himself standing in front the city’s skyline, with military helicopters flying overhead and flames burning in the background.

The image included the phrase ‘Chipocalypse Now,” a reference to the 1979 war film “Apocalypse Now,” and a quote that reads “I love the smell of deportations in the morning,” another reference to one of the film’s most notable lines: “I love the smell of napalm in the morning.”

“Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR,” another line plastered on the image reads.

for ever so long, that he doesn't even try to restrain himself. He thinks he is invulnerable now and that no one will stop him. He even screws over the people who have supported him; he just views them as suckers and losers anyway. All that power has gone to his demented brain.

Meanwhile, he really does seem to be losing his mind. Doesn't get much more crazy than this, but with Trump, I think it is possible he could and will get worse.

and of course, we've seen such people in movies, but I've never seen anything like this in real life. I have seen some abusive men who were "drunk on power", but in a much smaller setting, usually taking it out on their wives and children or employees.

Trump is going to make everyone pay for every time he was rejected, ridiculed, or passed over. This is his ultimate revenge dream.

Bloodshed, or a whimper.

I'm not sure how long these invasion will continue to go on for, if people will simply decide its best to stay the hell out of the way, and let the National Guard lay down mulch.

But at some point nerves are going to be frayed, injustice is going to reach a boiling point, and America is going to watch a Kent State style massacre play out live on their TVs. I just pray that the people that die that day do not do so in vain, and the country rises up to end this dictatorship.

I thought, there's a man who wants to drop a bomb on an American city. It was his fake swagger, his psychopathy and hate. Also the fact that he talked about killing someone out in the open and still being loved by everyone. It isn't just one American he wants to kill out in the open, it's many, many Americans.

Also the government has dropped bombs on their own American citizens previously, usually under Republican leaders. Seems that despite most citizens thinking they live in the land of the free, we actually are targets for the police, sheriff, powerful racist gangs and military forces.

There was the Philadelphia bombing by police on MOVE, a black liberation group, in 1985. And there was the Blair Mountain, VA bombing by the federal government and sheriff's department on miners who were on strike in August 1921. Which was the same year in June of the Tulsa race massacre that also firebombed American citizens from planes.

American citizens are subjected to occasional aerial bombardment on their own soil by government agencies whenever a Republican president feels like it, or turns a blind eye. Not much difference between conservative US policy and China policy, except for maybe number of babies they want women to pop out. They both severely punish citizens when they demand too much.

personally. Defending his actions in court is done with our money, not his. They clearly aren't worried about voting; even if there is an election they are working several angles to make it less fair. Plus he has been given immunity for almost anything he does. Plus he has captured or corrupted many of the norms, guardrails, and institutions typically in place. Plus in his mind he considers anything he does, especially those crazy ideas and actions no one would previously even think about, to be fully formed and brilliant by definition.

What is the downside for him?

The US elected a madman not constrained by morals, knowledge, laws, norms, limited funds, lack of enforcement capability, patriotism, or empathy. Not sure what happens next but I doubt it's good.

If we see ball bearings and strawberries we’ll know we’re there.

He has been building to this moment where he goes full on crackers with an audience of millions to witness it. His minions have been stroking him and coddling him along ….is this what he meant by saying Putin was tapping him along? The cabinet and staff have been watching this build and some of them are gleeful at what comes next. Maybe they should be feeling some terror like the rest of us? They’ve helped create this monster. Are they really sure they want him unleashed? Maybe they think he’ll fold or taco in the end. But can they be sure? Can we be sure?

It is way past time for someone(s) with the authority to step up and save us. Is anarchy our future?

Hoping it is not too late.

That’s such an odd thing since he ran and hid behind his father when the Vietnam War draft committee came calling. Now all of a sudden he’s an invasion expert. An example of Trump’s expert skills can be when he threw paper towels at people gathered for assistance after a hurricane.

Name one brave thing you’ve ever seen this disgraceful man do. Yet here he is, acting like some red, white and blue Super Saver. A very EXPERIENCED Super Saver. What BS.

Truth is….Trump is a punk, a fraud. A man so empty of decency that you can see right through him….all the way to that black, evil hole.

so, as our poster upthread, takket, says:

let the National Guard lay down mulch.

I saw Pritzker discussing this on television, and I am confident he will handle any situation without bloodshed. My prediction: It will be handled through the courts.

I do not miss the point of other posters, however, that the people have had enough and who knows what might happen when John Q. Citizen's last nerve is frayed.

Soon it will be NJ's turn. As a gardener, I'd like to put in for an appointment to have the National Guard stop by and lay down mulch at my place.

…where it was legal to Purge politicians, that would be fine.

I’ve seen all the Purge movies, and the moral of the Purge movies is very few people want to commit crimes. I got asked on Quora once that if there was a Purge what crime would I commit, and my answer was I’d charter a cargo jet and take orders for all the stuff you can’t get out n the US - Kinder Eggs, Cuban cigars and rum, absinthe, Thai weed, real haggis with lungs in it, that sort of thing. Then on Purge night I’d bring you a year’s supply of this stuff.

People are fooling themselves if they think this will all go away if tRump goes away. We all know about The Heritage Foundation and Project 2025. The Heritage Foundation has ties to many if not all Republicans in congress. If tRump dies Project 2025 will continue. Peter Thiel is strongly connected with all of this and spending millions on this. Probably other billionaires too.

On a personal level I have family in Chicago including a young adult Hispanic niece and nephew, both adopted as babies. Even though their mother is a retired business owner, she is terrified.

On a political, country level, I am shocked that threatening major cities is actually cheered on by a relatively large part of Trump's base. Trump has weaponized the xenophobic under current in a nightmarish situation where a lawless federal government is attacking its own states, it's educated elite, public health organizations, higher education and research organizations. While he says ad nauseum that he is making America great, he is destroying everything he can that ACTUALLY made America important.
