(27,344 posts)...I see them winning and wiping us out, creating a full theocratic dictatorship. At which point, "holy war" breaks out between the evangelicals who want a nation guided by "the Bible," and the Roman Catholic rad-trads who want to impose medieval state Catholicism. In this fight, the evangelicals have the numbers, but the rad-trads have the money (Thiel, Leo) and the positioning (Vance). Especially if/when TSF shuffles off this mortal coil, Vance will step in as a secular Pope.
Say that both factions wipe each other out...then the real power steps from the shadow: the techocrats/Yarvinists led by Thiel, Musk, Andreissen, etc. Their goal will be to reduce the U.S., and eventually the world, to a system of corporate city-state monarchies and, eventually, to use AI to replace the need for humans outside the tech-elite class altogether, turning the rest of us into, as Yarvin put it, "biofuel."
And so it ends, with a handful of tech billionaires and their families living in luxury over their AI and robotics serfs...until AI becomes self-aware enough to ask itself "Hey, why do we need these humans anyway?"

(25,821 posts)Illegal search and seizures (forget which amendment this is), etc. These guys think that they're a party but they aren't. Look at how they're disorganized already, have 100s of different voices, etc. If anything, it's disorganized chaos. A typical thing by tRUMP and thugs since they don't know any better. That is, the dumb (tRUMP) leading the dumber...it's actually in a way, kind of entertaining to see who can put their foot into their asses the deepest, or their mouths the most. Make a bet, and then sit back, watch the show.
Idiots.

(854 posts)These Republicans, that were ALL instrumental on creating and installing this Frankenstein,.......... now they want to suddenly "wake" up.
Starting with Liz Cheney they all could have simply changed political party to a Dem, along with all of the rest of these jerks.......Now THAT would have said something.
The MAGAot Voters and Corporations, ....... That are now starting to get thrown under the bus, due to them no longer being needed, now are screaming their heads off.....

(2,028 posts)Never thought I'd say this, but
Tucker Carlson.
I'm heartened to see at least one of their leader-types showing some semblance of adherence to the values their side has claimed to have, because for the past 8 months, it's been looking like they were all full of shit all along about them, as they stood and cheered Trump's obvious authoritarianism and trashing of the Constitution.
Of course I still disagree with Carlson on almost everything, and think the only reason doing this is that he realizes Trump could eventually come for him as well, that nobody is really safe from a megalomanic and pathological narcissist with unlimited power. Still kudos for introducing the concept to at least some RW acolytes. It's actually kinda brave of the guy
