.our living room was the last straw. Now network TV shows seem full of people yelling at and over each other, like drunken family at a holiday weekends, another cord I cut 50 years ago.
Tv got dumped after realizing the internet gave options to choose quieter ways of viewing the world. Without Loud music backgrounds. Without paying hundreds in cable to have unwanted shit pounded into my head all day. After realizing that Fox talking heads yell a lot then their listeners yell a lot. Not much logic, but lots of loud noise to keep you all agitated and wired.
It's been a calmer more contemplative way of living with no network tv breaking into the room.
We can read, and think, and make rational choices how to deal with the severe threat facing us.
Blood pressure is way lower.
How about just cutting one network to start . The one that cut Colbert. Make it not exist for you and be sure to tell them goodbye. How many millions all calling in and boycotting the entire network for a couple weeks would make a meaningful impact on their bottom line?
Effective way to make an impact is to CALL the bad actor. 200 calls a day, in a calm determined emphatic voice, seems to be what it takes for the bosses to listen and react. Petitions and letters don't make a big impact compared to a call, btw.
