GOP lawmaker makes blockbuster claim: FBI has at least 20 names of suspected Epstein clients

A Republican lawmaker revealed for the first time Wednesday that there is a quasi-list of suspected clients of sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein that can be compiled from a series of witness statements and other evidence gathered by the FBI.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) told the House Judiciary Committee that he thinks the FBI has the names of at least 20 people tied to Epstein, including prominent figures in the music industry, finance, politics and banking.

Massie’s statement comes as FBI Director Kash Patel testified under oath before Congress over two days of contentious hearings, during which he continued to insist that there is no “client list” and no credible evidence that Epstein trafficked underage girls to anyone other than himself.

But Massie cited files used by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York which summarize interviews with witnesses and suspects.

The lawmaker claimed those files include “one Hollywood producer worth a few 100 million dollars, one royal prince, one high-profile individual in the music industry, one very prominent banker, one high profile government official, one high profile former politician, one owner of a car company in Italy, one rock star, one magician, at least six billionaires, including a billionaire from Canada. We know these people exist in the FBI files, the files that you control.”

1. There are way more than 20 men on the list.

Epstein didn't make all that money from just 20 men.

They already can name many of the guilty parties even without the Epstein files being released

5. He clearly knew a lot of important people, this is well-established

To me all a list like this does is unfairly cast aspersions. If there's going to be "a list" in the sense of what we all want to see, Leon Black is the only one of this group who belongs on it.

Just saying.

6. Massie explicitly named Jes Staley as someone a victim or victims were trafficked to

I don't think he would have done that unless he was sure it was true. Sorry, but no way is he unfairly casting aspersions on Staley.

10. Fair enough. According to an AI source

Direct Allegations: In 2025 court testimony, Staley admitted to having a sexual relationship with a staff member of Epstein’s, describing the encounter as consensual and asserting ignorance about Epstein’s criminal activities.

No public court documents directly accuse Staley of sexual assaulting minors or trafficking, but U.S. Virgin Islands lawsuits against JPMorgan alleged Staley engaged in “sexual activity with young women procured by Epstein.” Staley and his lawyers have consistently denied all allegations of sexual misconduct and knowledge of trafficking.

No Known Criminal Charges: As of 2025, Staley has not faced criminal charges related to Epstein, but his regulatory and legal troubles are ongoing, including a ban from holding senior roles in UK financial services and multimillion-pound fines

That's enough to stipulate that there's reason to think he would belong on The List, per the common parlance. Thanks for pointing out my inaccuracy

7. Almost all of the names you list are NOT found in the searchable database you linked to.

Most are also not listed in Epstein's black book. I have no idea what the point of this list is supposed to be. There are hundreds of people named in the black book and flight logs yet you don't list them. There is no evidence of any connection to Epstein's sex trafficking. you seem to be unfairly accusing some of these people of guilt by association.

4. It's possibly Virginia Giuffre's list, from her defamation lawsuit against Maxwell, docs released in 2019

Less than 24 hours after that release, Epstein killed himself in jail (or whatever happened).

If that's correct, this is not blockbuster news, as we've known of her list for 6 years. In fact we have many of the names on said list already. Prince Andrew. George Mitchell. Bill Richardson, Jean-Luc Brunel, Marvin Minsky, Glen Dubin, and Dershowitz (she later retracted this claim). However, its also been long known that many more people are referred to in general terms only, like how Massie refers to them here.

One should also note: Massie does not claim to know who they actually are himself. I think it's possible these are the only descriptions VG's lawyers gave to the court (this was a civil case against Maxwell, not criminal against the men involved), which could mean the FBI in fact doesn't know who all these people supposedly are any more than Massie does.

Or maybe it really is "blockbuster news" and this is new information. Hard to be sure

And also ridiculous that I have to resort to guessing games on this.

11. I assume Massie decided now is not yet the time to reveal

Everything. I think he purposely presented that "list" the way he did as a sort of warning - they can clearly name a bunch of specific people who were trafficked to so continuing to cover up the complete files will not prevent a bunch of the guilty men from being outed anyway. This puts more pressure on Republicans to join the call to release the files.
