(111,367 posts)I have the new month-to-month streaming app, but have already done so. This is painful since I love college football, but games are mostly on ESPN or its affiliate networks or ABC so, I guess it is unavoidable. I will make it through with whatever highlight videos might be available online and listen to my own team's games streaming from the local radio outlet. They are a lot easier to listen to anyway since they have a "Dawg" in the fight.

(1,207 posts)Tried at 5 and 7pm Pacific, just spun.
So ESPN+ is basically for 2nd tier athletic events, in my case college football games.
Now I would guess on a Saturday they would easily have 100k plus people streaming so hard to believe 100k plus were logging on to cancel, so my guess, they are purposely throttling, taking servers offline.
I finally called, was directed to log in at the ESPN website and then could cancel.
Best thing, you get the standard why survey. Pick others and you can tell them exactly why they lost your business.

A past employee advises you to call directly. It counts for more that way.
Interesting!

(5,640 posts)I called, spoke with a lovely individual, and told her why I was cancelling. She recommended that I go to help.hulu.com to post a comment/complaint.
Done.

(770 posts)It took awhile. I couldn't do it on their site so I Googled something like "Contact a live person at Hulu" and was able to have a text chat with someone who was very nice and helped me cancel.
He asked me why and I wrote Jimmy Kimmel. Immediately, a kind of disclaimer statement came up that tried to excuse Hulu from the decision. It was ready to go. I still canceled and praised the chat person for his professionalism and kindness. I told him that I hope he wasn't being watched by Corporate and he thanked me for caring.

(1,840 posts)I do know that if you get the Hulu TV subscription, you can get his show on there.
The issue is that Hulu/ABC/Disney are all part of the same corporate entity. You can't really cancel ABC, but you can cancel Hulu/Disney. Kowtowing to fascists over blatantly ridiculous accusations should not be rewarded.

(1,244 posts)Already canceled Paramount. Seems like this is one of the only things we have control of at the moment and we need to not support companies that capitulate to a petty, vindictive dictator.
