Under a Democratic Presidents' Administration, ....Would it have been OK with MAGA folks,

if Obama or Biden's FCC would have pulled the licenses of
FOX, OAN, Newsmax, or any network that showed programming
that criticized the sitting president.?????
Would that have been cool with the MAGA-sphere??
If any of you DU ers have a Trumpy-MAGA person in your Orbit-,
(I do not at this moment),
please ask this question- I'd love to hear the answers!!
Thanks you all!!

And they require that broadcasts are "in the public's interest". With the end of the "fairness doctrine", which required broadcasters to offer time (not necessarily equal time) for opposing points of view, the concept of "in the public's interest" is subjective, and open to interpretation.

It comes down to semantics, and who decides what is "in the public interest".

Cable outlets are not over the air broadcasters, and not subject to that rule.

With Carr leading the FCC, expect more to follow.

The thought police are very real, and very here...

There’s lots of levers in the government to harass a company if you want to abuse power like Trump. Open an SEC investigation - that’s one off the top of my head.
