Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe View is in Brendan CARR's sights, "equal time" or bust. He's a mess of contradictions.
Googling yields a lot yet not much on him - has been with the FCC since 2012 starting on staff and as a lawyer, appointed to the commission by both BIDEN and KRASNOV, back when was making all kinds of free speech protections, then went full KRASNOV about "community standards" that might be curbing free speech (but only criticisms of KRASNOV), then inciting the KIMMEL suspension/removal with "more to come".
So the flexible standard he's planning for The View is whether or not it is actually protected by the category of "bonafide news show" that escapes having to feature equal time to opposing candidates. (Only "candidates"? ) So since the Faux Propaganda Network is somehow considered a "news" outlet, is that why it can run wild all wingnut and MAGA? But all the Googling shows him appearing on almost only wingnut podcasts where he delivers his pronouncements - contradiction! Here's an idea, why doesn't he go on The View?!
So who is this Brendan Thomas CARR axing the First Amendment - hmmm, no personal backround on Wiki

Carr says hes not so sure whether the ABC News panel show can evade the FCCs regulations
.... On Thursdays The Scott Jennings Radio Show, the chairman said that the FCC will determine whether or not the Whoopi Goldberg-led series is a bonafide news show. If not, it would be forced to offer opposing political candidates equal time on an FCC-regulated network like ABC. Carrs comments against The View came just a day after the Disney-owned network suspended Jimmy Kimmel over comments he made Monday about Charlie Kirks alleged shooter. ....
... It also follows Carrs July threats to investigate the show over comments critical of President Donald Trump, suggesting on Fox News that its possible theres issues there. ....
The show initially intended not to change its focus on politics in the wake of Trumps win even planning to invite him to appear on the show despite its six-person panel comprised of those opposed to his policies. But as Trump took control of the nation and strongarmed media companies, including Disney and Paramount, to pay him millions of dollars to settle legal cases, ABC News president Almin Karamehmedovic and Disney CEO Bob Iger urged its hosts to tone down their political coverage.
The hosts have not relented and have continued to host political guests, such as its upcoming interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris. But it has showcased its willingness to avoid topics closer to home. It didnt address Carrs July threats, and on Thursday, it remained silent on Disneys decision to pull Kimmels show.
