Re: How J Kimmel's quote is being characterized. I don't understand ...

As an example, I just listened to Are Melber's coverage of this. He accurately quoted Kimmel, "... new lows, with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can (sic) to score political points from it." He immediately went on to say that this quote, "... includes what sounds like an inaccurate reference to the shooter ..."

Am I wrong that Kimmel (apparently) did NOT accuse the shooter of being MAGA, or even suggest that he might be. The way I'm hearing it, he merely said that the MAGA crowd at large has been looking for any way possible to characterize the shooter as not only *not* on the right politically, but to characterize him as a 'left wing lunatic' before any solid information was even reported, and extrapolate from that to demonize all liberals ... i.e., score political points to the point they're almost referring to the Democratic party as a terrorist organization. In other words, it seems to me that J Kimmel's quote above is an accurate observation.

But every commentator I've heard on MSNBC has been covering this almost exactly like A Melber, above. It's kind of driving me nuts.

What am I missing?

1. What's the point in parsing his actual words? The fact that they attacks liberals before any facts came out tells you

all you need to know.

They had an agenda to attack democrats, liberals, the left, antifa, whatever, and were waiting for any flimsy pretense.

Kimmel has long been a thorn in Donnie's side and he's pretending that Kimmel said something inappropriate as an excuse to silence him one way or another.

What Kimmel actually said hardly matters. They're not going after him for what he said. They're going after him because he's a popular Donnie critic and they need to silence all criticism of Donnie.

2. Personally I think Kimmel's statement would not have gotten him fired, this time, if he had said

both sides were trying to pin it on other side.

But they were after him, so they would have gotten him for next show or something.

For some reason I’m optimistic this will work out, but will take awhile. Colbert is killing it tonight on Kimmel matter. I keep thinking Colbert might get removed physically mid-show.

4. The confusion is that there's two ways of interpreting these words

"as anything other than one of them"

Could be read either of these two ways:
1) An assertion that Tyler is in fact one of them (M$M), or
2) They just want Tyler to not be one of them (yours)

Based purely on the words, both interpretations are at least reasonable. I suspect he MEANT it as you interpreted and I think that is the more logical interpretation. Actually hearing it said might shed some light on the intent. I have not.

5. Kimbell was critiquing MAGA, not the shooter.

And it's accurate.

MAGA *is* diverting attention away from itself and using the shooter as its vehicle. And intentionally using any excuse to silence its critics. Using TSF, who is using the FCC, to use the ABC Corporation to accomplish that goal.

6. That's the way I heard it, too. I don't understand ...

... why it's not being reported that way, even after hearing his exact words, or in Ari M's case, speaking the exact quote out of his own mouth.
