Rant On.
One thing that really chaps my ass is when people want to try and avoid telling the simple truth.
If I come to an agency, and that agency cannot help me, just fucking say so. To my face. That is all I ask.
Don't sit there babbling a bunch of idiotic corporate speak to try and not be caught saying 'No.', just fucking say NO.
Don't spend five minutes bawling words that can translate into a simple, two-word response, "Won't Help!"
No, we will not help you with anything and your predicament is not enough to get us to care about you for one second. So, given that your predicament is not enough to garner anyone points with the boss, since your predicament is not enough to get anyone a raise or recognized as being exceptional in their field... we will not help you.
In short, since there is no glory for us in it, we will not help you.
THAT is all they need to say. Just tell the truth. You don't want to help me.
(I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY HATE the corporate 'everything is about money' intrusion into every aspect of our lives. Especially in the field of rendering aid.)
