Goodsteins home?
Morning Joe talking about everything but!
So we all know how this is probably gonna go!

(5,877 posts)to actually report news, especially news that doesnt fit their agenda. But if the home was bombed by someone who gave $5 to a democratic town council candidate in 1993, theyll go 24/7 on how violent the left is.

(3,105 posts)Yes, they talk about events of the day, but it is ALWAYS done through the prism of an "expert," analyst or pundit. They have 24/7 of airtime to fill when not running commercials. They never just stick to the who, what, when and why and then move on. It all has to disected for angles (real and imagined), "exclusives," reading the tea leaves (contemplating what MIGHT be done next) or straight-up propaganda. They pick and choose what they want to cover and decide what is newsworthy. In this environment, that is supressing bad news for Trump and amplifying propaganda.

(14,606 posts)That odds are overwhelming that this was an accident, probably a gas leak. Otherwise, it would be the #1 story.
Everything we see is not necessarily a conspiracy.

(3,054 posts)If the claim is made that it was a gas leak explosion, who's going to believe it on the Left? If it turns out it was human caused, who's going to believe it on the right?
Personally, I'll need hard ass proof it wasn't deliberate. Even gas leaks can be engineered by sick people with axes to grind in favor of their favorite Christ-come-again Cankleman. But I'll wait for the investigators' report and see what evidence it contains -- one way or t'other.

(3,054 posts)but the actual negligence. I don't recall how many firebombs were thrown and bullets were fired at Kavanaugh's house, but THAT got a load of coverage on cable "news" so there . . .what's that? No firebombs or bullets, just protesters keeping a distance away from the home? And the Right-Wing media milked that as if the entire family had been stripped naked, dragged from the house, and forced to drink bad beer while singing The Internationale.
Burn down the house of a judge who blocked Trump and company in their efforts to remove the Bill of Rights from the Constitution -- and almost killing her and her family in the process? Crickets.
Maybe the news will pick up as the day progresses.
Fox News, of course, will remind its drooling viewers about poor Justice Kavanaugh and tell them that, "See, see, see!!! The Left struck first!!!!!" And those mental goobers will all look at each other with a kind of relief ("see, Mable, them libs done started it!) felt only by the congenitally stupid and mentally numb who are just happy that the Mindless Minions of Fox have reminded them once again that, ahem, MAGA good, Democracy bad.
If I were a younger man, I'd be packing my bags for Yellowknife, Canada. America is looking near done for -- unless there is a God and She's as pissed as I am.*

The only 2 outlets I found with a story on their main page were CNN & ABC News, and on CNN it was near the very bottom of the page. ABC News was the only outlet that had a story anywhere near the top of their main page

The home of a South Carolina judge was destroyed after it went up in flames on Saturday.
A fire engulfed the home of Judge Diane Goodstein, who serves on the state Circuit Court, and led to three people being hospitalized with injuries, including her husband, per The Post and Courier. The cause of the fire is not immediately known, and the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said it is investigating the incident. Newsweek contacted SLED via email on Monday outside regular working hours.
Why It Matters
The fire comes weeks after Goodstein issued a ruling against the Trump administration.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the blaze, and there is currently no evidence to suggest it was an act of arson. Still, it has sparked conversation about online hostility toward members of the judiciary who rule against Trump and his allies.

(3,939 posts)And here we are on Monday.
Now Im all for waiting until the investigation is completed and everything is released to draw conclusions but there sure do seem to be some underlying circumstances here to have some concern.

I expect we will eventually hear more from MSNBC and CNN. They be being cautious until more info is in. Although the first articles I read, even yesterday, said it is being investigated as arson.
