Arrest in SC at protest

We had one arrest at the No Kings rally in Myrtle Beach. A lady rode by in her Trump-adorned car and — pointed a handgun at two people from her car window.
She now says that she had 18 hours to reflect on how ignorant and wrong her action was. That time was of course the period she spent in jail last night waiting for the judge to give her a $100,000 cash bond this morning. Her picture in her Trump Tshirt was at the top of the article.

During Sunday’s bond hearing, Moriarty expressed regret over the situation.

“I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on a very ignorant move,” Moriarty said, adding that the weapon was not loaded. “...It was an impulsive, very ignorant thing to do; something I totally regret, given the 18 hours that I’ve had to reflect on it.”

She also claimed during the hearing that she’s not a flight risk, and has a full-time job and family here.

The judge said there is a concern for public safety, and ordered that if released, Moriarty can’t have contact with the two victims.

She's 59 years old, FFS. And it delights me that the only recorded arrest among 7 million participants was a Trumper.

17. When it comes to a republican making a statement one has to wonder what they really mean to say.

In this case she said that she had 18 hours to reflect on how ignorant and wrong her action was.
I am tempted to wonder if she is reflecting on choosing a different gun next time? Next time bringing a loaded gun? Wearing a mask? Having someone else drive while she crouches in the back? It's a certainty that like all republicans her thoughts are not about changing her behavior, but about how not to get caught the next time.
