I've got a neighbor who is a small-town cop. Lived by him for 30 years. He does not wear a mask.

Wife and kids and pets. Little ranch house by the edge of town. Guy is very active in charity work, volunteers for almost any civic cause. He has a raft of awards for his service. He started a group to train people in first aid and emergency resuscitation. He set up a drive to buy car seats for children, as well as training folks how to properly use them. He takes poor kids Christmas shopping every year, part of a program by city employees. He's at the heart of every fundraiser and civic event in town. He has been named Officer of the Year repeatedly, last year for saving an infant's live who could not breath. He beat the ambulance to the scene at a public housing unit, even though he was not dispatched, he heard the call on the radio and was close by. The baby would likely not have lived if they waited the extra minutes for the ambulance. If it snows, he helps his elderly neighbors clean their drives and walks (including mine). Last year, he saw me trying to clean my gutters, and he dropped what he was doing and came over to help me. When I was in the hospital, he took care of my lawn and watched my house, all unasked.

He has had his mailbox smashed, stolen and run over more times than I can count. He has windows in his home broken. He had his house broken into a few years back and they killed his two housecats and trashed the place. He had a "First Amendment Auditor" show up at his home last year with a camera, screaming at the house trying to get an over-reaction. He's had obscenities painted on his fence and the side of his house. Someone tore off huge sections of his vinyl siding, turned his outdoor water faucet on and left it running full blast, flattened his tires.

This is why I get so pissed off at these cos-play ICE cops with their masks. My mother taught me that if you doing something you don't want anyone to know about, then it is probably something you should not be doing. My local cop neighbor has been showing his face every day to the people he's pissed off. For decades. He does what he does and he stands up for his actions. He is a braver man than I by any measure.

These ICE goons have no integrity, no calling to serve their people or their country. They hide behind masks because they are cowards and they will not take responsibility for their actions. They are there to kick ass and make money and then scurry off to hide. they have no interest in helping or serving the public.

Why would a righteous person wear a mask every day? Are they ashamed or afraid?

I am sitting here sputtering. There are not enough words in the English language to express the outrage that I am feeling right now. What kind of people are these that would do such horrible things to another human being, especially one as honorable and decent as your neighbor?

I just can't get my head around it. These people who know absolutely nothing about a person's character have the audacity to destroy his property and kill his cats? To what end? For what reason?

I'm heartsick and disgusted. What the fuck is wrong with people?

If so what specifically about it seems to trigger the harassment?

Or is he an outspoken liberal, apart from his good deeds?

But it would be interesting to do a FOIA to read the reports of this "litany of abuses."

I do know that with rural/small town policing, it's easier to "run someone off" than to go up against the local PD. In most jurisdictions, you'd have the entire town against you.

The "Town Fathers," Village Idiots, and Town Drunks all have a hand in community "policing" in small town/rural America.

They're great people and professional, good, honest law officers. It's pretty much because of the leadership from the number 1 (sheriff) and number two positions. Unfortunately, I find they are in the minority of rural sheriffs and law officers. Most rural law officers are bumpkin fucks who plant pot on brown people just to get a bust.

Is a MAGAt p.o.s.

He basically told people to keep track of their neighbors who had Dem campaign signs so they could dawdle about handling calls to those homes. Naturally, he was re-elected.

The town needs to install invisible camaras all around his property. If the township has little to no extra money in its coffers, then contact local civic groups or church guilds who might adopt a fund-raising project to cover the cost. If those local hoodlums do those kinds of things to his property, then they just might go the next step & harm him!
What a sweet earthly Guardian Angel your community is blessed with.

I only recently stopped wearing one myself, when visiting the closest market---
just because it was too damned hot this summer to wear....

It is very ironic to me that the people most stubbornly wearing masks now (ICE agents),
the majority were probably among the most vehemently AGAINST wearing masks
when it would have helped to reduce the spread of a deadly disease........

NOW the 'deadly disease' whose spread should be prevented is called 'ICE'
