So the rape charges were not substantiated and no charges were filed ... sounds like they may have a point here

Leaving aside how I might feel about these people's politics, they do have some right to privacy on matters such as these, as long it's all legal and consenting. And it sounds like officials may have been a bit cavalier in terms of what was divulged to the public. BUT Florida is a "Sunshine" state, that by statute allows for a lot more about ongoing cases to be legally divulged (which is a big reason why "Florida Man" is such a "thing" ). Be interesting to see what happens with this case, esp. given no charges were eventually filed.
