The NRA pushed Republicans in Indiana to pass a law that allows any citizen to open fire on a public servant for unlawful intrusion. Police fear this means a citizen could shoot at a cop, then claim the cop was trying to enter his or her property.

(2,679 posts)symbolic things? Oh wait yeah at the last minute before the debacle plan B they voted to cut everything except the military. This session of the House was the biggest joke ever. Epic fail doesn't even come close to describing it.
You know what I would love? To see the repubs grow up and either kick the tea party out of their party or the moderate repubs just flat out leave their party and be independents, let the tea party claim the repub name and it won't be the majority. Cause right now thats what we have and because they together out number dems NOTHING gets done.
The Republican party is dead. The real majority in DC is the Dems. The Dems control the Senate. In the House they should also be in control as we really have 4 parties. Dems, Repub, Indies and Tea Party peeps. The Repubs really should stand up and take their party back from that hate group tea baggers. The country would be better off if these free loaders were forced to form their own party instead of hiding behind the protection of an established party.
For the record, I have never voted for a Republican. When I was young I used to say I was an independent and would vote for the person I liked not party lines. I fooled myself over the years clinging to this ideology until 2004. I might still hold that grand ideology but facts are facts and my voting record despite what I might think does not show the voting patterns of an indie. It shows I am all the way Dem.
But we need two strong parties in order for our government to work and right now we have one strong party two weak parties that claim to be one but they can't agree on shit. BTW I really love run on sentences sorry.
