leading the Senate and how the media was framing the end of shutdown against the Dems.

... the best on that TV station Now. I would only add that we don't know the public's "blame" levels next week... or next month. You have to know how to play a bad hand. We have 0 branches of government. It's possible this Shutdown caved at the best time.

However, with the loss of SNAP benefits and the holidays coming up the mood can shift to 'a pox on both your houses'. And this is only a 2 1/2 month CR, the government could be shut down again in February.
