I need to vent - not only are members of the House not at work - they are not answering their phones

or even have their voice mail on!

I called my rep - tgopper Jeff Flake, and yes his name suits him perfectly.

Since he is home, I called his local office. It rang and rang and rang and rang.
So I called his DC office. A message came on that stated the house will not return till Jan 3rd - so I couldn't leave a message.
So I emailed him - not that I think there is anyone in his office that will even read it, but I sent in anyway.

My tax dollars pays for this man's salary. Who the heck does he think he is that he can just take the time off when there is work to be done.... not just the fiscal "cliff" but also the farm bill.
Yes, I understand it is the holidays and that he is home, but to not even be able to leave a message??

This is bullshit. Members of the House of Rep need to get their butts back to DC.
We pay them to work, and they never do.

And to add insult here, Jeff Flake is the KING of NO when it comes to anything that wastes tax payer dollars.
I guess that doesn't matter when tax dollars are wasted to pay HIM.

Thanks - I just needed to vent!

9. The next step is to publicize what you have done in the local media.

If the local media doesn't provide you an outlet then be creative. It may require more than one avenue to pursue. Your local Democratic Party, your Facebook, Twitter, media Facebook, media Twitter, etc. Then make sure your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc know about your situation.

I, too, would like a congressperson to say, "NO" when it comes to anything that wastes tax payer dollars. I'm fine with that. Unfortunately, I don't think you meant it that way. I think you meant he will say, "NO" to anything that uses tax payer dollars, regardless of whether the use is good or bad.

to answer phones? Apparently not.

Maybe someone should tell them about that fabulous 21st century technology called the answering machine.

but that one isn't even going through the pretense. Abomindable behaviour, especially from a Congressman - the branch of the govt that's supposed to be the most accountable to the people. What a flake.

We aren't his base.

He does nothing for Arizona. The tea party nut jobs who elected him are the ones complaining the loudest about Congress doing nothing. But hey, at least he isn't a socialist liberal.
