"Grandma doesn't need slippers."

But Donald says the economy is doing just fine!

A guest on Fox News told listeners not to buy gifts for adults during the holiday season, and people are going off about the financial coach on the internet.

During a recent segment of The Ramsey Show, guest Jade Warshaw said that "Grandma doesn’t need slippers" while advising folks that they don't need to buy presents for people over 18.

“Budget, budget, budget," she told the show's co-host, Dana Perino. "You need a plan. Also, remember, adults don't need gifts, OK? Focus on the people in your life who are aged 3 to 18. Grandma doesn’t need slippers. If they don’t live by you, don’t get them a gift."

"Now is not the time to spend and break the bank sending packages across the country, Dana," she continued. "Focus on the people in your life, ages 3 to 18. That's my 30 seconds for you.”

4. But if the economy is "doing just fine" why do we have to scrimp?

Yea, yea I know, but sometimes I just have to take a look at the “logic”. I know better.

Don't buy anything for adults.

Buy less overall.

Budget.

There's no need to slather your adult relatives with exorbitant, unnecessary gifts. Just a bag of handmade treats for me, and I'm a happy camper.

But you don't go on television and tell us what "grandma doesn't need."

10. Right but based on what we can see in the OP, she didn't even offer that as an alternative

Just replacements for things that have worn out. Halflinger cork-soled slippers. A new needle for my turntable.

So, it's not terrible advice, but my elderly father needs new clothes since he's shrunk...

But…I agree a bit with the sentiment here. I just had this talk with my immediate family. My parents don’t want money spent on them. I want something very small or nothing but love this Christmas. I’ve said the same the last two christmas when prices and inflation went insane starting with Covid. I definitely don’t want to ship packages.
