Market crash imminent as 'defining moment' for economy nears: report - Rawstory

A “long-delayed’ pair of economic data points are set to be released “in the coming days,” leaving market analysts on edge over what could become a "defining moment” in determining whether the United States is on the cusp of a market crash, NBC News reported Tuesday.

“Markets are bracing for a turbulent week as major economic data returns and investor anxiety grows around interest rates, tech earnings and cryptocurrency weakness,” said Lukman Otunuga, a senior market analyst at FXTM Global, an online trading broker, in a statement to NBC News.

Those data points are the jobs report – delayed in part due to the recent government shutdown – and an earnings report from Nvidia, the company at the heart of the artificial intelligence boom, investments of which now make up about a third of the value of the entire stock market. The jobs report is scheduled to be released Dec. 5, and Nvidia’s earning report, on Wednesday.

1. Clickbait headline

A “long-delayed’ pair of economic data points are set to be released “in the coming days,” leaving market analysts on edge over what could become a "defining moment” in determining whether the United States is on the cusp of a market crash, NBC News reported Tuesday.

So, nobody, except Raw Story, is actually saying a market crash is imminent.

Raw Story is a terrible source for news - they merely quote other sources, then slap a misleading headline on the story, without any original reporting of their own.

But there are things we should be concerned about as consumers. Nividia, job numbers and a slowing economy. We have an idiot and a grifter in office, there are no adults in this administration. If we have an economic emergency we are screwed because there is no plan to stop the ship from hitting the iceberg.

this isn't the first time you showed up to bash one of my links from Rawstory.

But as I said before, and contrary to your claim of their not doing 'any original reporting of their own,' Rawstory HAS been cited for investigative journalism and breaking stories.

Furthermore, the article repeatedly references the NBC report, with MULTIPLE corroborative links as well.

FROM WIKIPEDIA: RAWSTORY

Raw Story (also stylized as RawStory) is an American progressive news website. Its reporting is a combination of syndicated articles, aggregated material, and its own independent reporting.

With its focus on "news that's downplayed by mainstream media outlets"

RawStory often scoops major news media and has received several awards for its investigative journalism

on topics such as domestic extremism, congressional conflicts-of-interest, and violence against US postal carriers. The organization was founded in 2004 by John K. Byrne and is owned by Byrne and Michael Rogers.

The headline says “crash is imminent “, and the story says no such thing.

but I don't know of many news sources that write headlines with the intent of being ignored. And as I said, the article provides many references as to the basis for concern besides the NBC report.

MY point being, that your assertion that Rawstory never produces anything original is ALSO an... EXAGGERATION.

Furthermore, as I also stated previously, I think wholesale dismissals of sources such as Rawstory, do a disservice to
such alternative (NOT MSM) news sources, sources that present information the general public may never hear of,

and in so doing, tends to pour cold water on legitimate concerns, while simultaneously (albeit unintentionally) bolstering pro-right wing dismissals and denialism...IMO.

I think we are in very deep economic trouble for the future. I don't claim any expertise at all but we have things like more bank dregulation, trouble with Japan (we rely on them to buy from the treasury), climate change, subprime auto loans, and a huge ai bubble. All wrapped in political instability. Someone explain to me the rosy scenario here

in fear of being blamed for causing market panic, and making a downturn happen.

But when the evidence one is happening is irrefutable, they will all sound the alarm bells, with the great advice of DON'T PANIC!

Which everyone will ignore of course.
