Polands foreign minister, Radosław Sikorski, has described last weekends sabotage attack on Polands rail system as an act of state terrorism ordered by Russia, as he announced that Poland was closing the last remaining Russian consulate in the country.
The clear intention was to cause human casualties, he said of the weekend bomb attack.
They are on the trail of the principals; they are on the trail of the perpetrators the first arrests are now taking place, the spokesperson Jacek Dobrzyński said on Wednesday morning. He said later that four people had been arrested.
On Tuesday, the prime minister, Donald Tusk, said authorities had identified two Ukrainian citizens involved in the attack, who had arrived in Poland from Belarus and left soon after placing explosive devices on the rail tracks over the weekend.

(37,260 posts)1. Not surprised with all the, you know, terrorism that Russia has been perpetrating
Really, this process should have started after the FSB murdered Alexander Litvinenko in a NATO country in 2006.

Are they Ukrainian-Russian?

(14,892 posts)3. Probably. Quite a few old Soviets and their children were settled in Ukraine.
Ukraine had Muskovy/Russian aligned Presidents and other people in power from the break-up of the Soviet until Maidan. The problem of Russian Corruption has been endemic; with Ukraine proper becoming more "Western", there were still too many old school Mayors and business owners wanting retain their "Big Boyar in a Russian Subject state" status to put up with the political messiness and lack of obedient serfs part of Western Democracy.
