“With the rising number of senior homelessness. Anyone know any organizations that help seniors on fixed incomes with HOA assessment costs?”

My reply:
Call your congressman and demand that instead of giving tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires help the rest of the population. Don’t vote for anyone that votes for things like the crazy tax cut and tariffs and cuts things like Medicaid and other social programs.

Medicare, insurance, taxes and HOA fees are close to a tipping point for me. This insecurity at my age is stressful and I can understand my friends and my neighbors’ anxiety .

My BF has Parkinson’s and will probably not be able to work in a few years and he has to pay off a loan from his 401k - I lost my job so I’m living on Social Security. I never thought i would have to worry about becoming homeless. My BF and I came from semi-wealthy families. You don’t realize how much it costs to live in a decent living situation during retirement. If you don’t have more than a million in savings, you are really living “on the edge” as a senior with all the costs that goes along with being old. Right after paying for cataract surgery, I found out I need 3 dental crowns.

I just had to have a root canal plus temporary crown and then permanent crown. The dental practice gave me 20% off regular price and the total bill was $4,000. For one tooth. They said my only other option was I could live without the tooth which I declined. I can afford it but it made me remember an incident where I could hear the person in the area next to mine tell the dentist "just go ahead and pull it" because she couldn't afford to have her tooth fixed.

Richest country in the world and people can't afford basic health care that most seniors need.

I work hard to lose the fear because I know that's an accomplishment for the krasnov abomination administration.

unforeseen HOA increases in Florida as HOA's have to remodel to comply with insurance and state regulations which were ignored for years. Also HOA corruption is frequently in the news here. Insurance, when you can get it, has also doubled, tripled, quadrupled, or more, partly due to anthropogenic climate change worries and partly due to Florida's rank as number one, by far, in home insurance fraud.
Topping this off, due to falling real estate prices, many people who bought in the last five years or so may find themselves underwater on their home value. Whether they have a mortgage or not realizing this loss by selling will be painful.

Like someone to help them pay this month's HOA fees.
