Trump put in a corner

He was forced to sign the bill to release the Epstein files. Except for one lone Congressman, Republicans voted unanimously to release the files. Trump could have pocket-vetoed the bill if the Senate vote had been close enough for him to twist the arms of a couple of Senators, but almost immediately after the House passed the bill overwhelmingly, Chuck Schumer rushed to the Senate floor to make a unanimous consent that the Senate pass the bill, also.

Naturally, this was a deal too good for Senate Republicans to pass up. They could have it both ways. They did not have to be the deciding vote to release the file and garner the revenge of the authoritarian in the White House. So they all agreed to the unanimous consent.

For Trump and MAGA Mike Johnson, this was a stab in the back by Thune and the Republicans. The writing was on the wall. There was no way to veto the bill without it being over-ridden by the House and the Senate. Trump was cornered.

And as usual, Trump pretended that they all voted the way they did because he came out in favor of releasing the files, which was nothing but a bald-faced lie. But as some folks noted, once they voted in such a huge number, he was like the person being chased by a mob and pretended he was leading the parade.

It showed how quick he is to surrender once he is challenged. He will only act when he thinks he can get away with it. So, he signed the bill.

What next?

We know he is not an honest broker. He will lie, cheat, or steal anytime he is given the opportunity. This has put his DOJ in a predicament. Are they willing to help him cover up this story and keep it from the American public? No doubt, they will feel the pressure from Republican voters. It will be very difficult to keep all of them on board.

Trump is struggling to get out of the corner.

He's confident that the files are scrubbed. Or that Biondi can keep the bad parts hidden. Or that the files will get lost or destroyed. But he'd never sign without knowing that.

...is that he never plans ahead. If the bus is going over the side of the mountain, he will try to figure out what to do once they get to the bottom? He is a classic reactionary.

That may be the best they can hope for? Better to be accused of a "cover-up" than to expose the truth in the files.

Won't we?

It wasn't the Democrats that got this ball rolling. It was Elon Musk. Remember?

Republicans poisoned pilled the bill to death, which is why it passed bth houses so easily and quickly. It has a loophole big enough to drivea a truck tbhrough and that truck will eventualy carry all that material into whatever obscurity that holds the Epstein DVD collection and the records from those bogus flight schools in Florida that produced the 9/11 hijackers.

As it is, the rich. the powerful,. and especially the Republican will be redacted out of this and any mention of Fatso's business dealings with Epstein will be disappeared entirely.

We're getting bupkus, a usual. Maybe there will be some out of ofice Democarts, we'vve known about Clinton for years. Other than that, I oubt we'll get even small fish, just a few minnows.

Pobably the best to hope for until the archives are discovered in a dusty and damp sub basement a century or so from now and then buried in a dry and dusty scholarly paper are the memoirs of people who are writing long after Fatso is safelt dead.

C'mon, Bondi is fanatically loyal, that's why she's there.
