Some people enjoy business, money isn't the only motivation for everything.

... I think she realizes she's too lame to start another party. She was a symptom of TACO on the way up and now she's a canary in that coal mine that is TACO. Enthused and then disappointed.

I know around here, I haven't seen even 10% of the TACO stuff on cars and signs that there were.

The primary components of congressional retirement benefits are:
Pension Plan: Members are eligible for a pension (annuity) after at least five years of service. The amount is based on their years of service and the average of their three highest years of salary (high-3 average salary). By law, the starting annual pension cannot exceed 80% of their final salary, which is currently $174,000 for most members.
Eligibility Age: To receive an immediate, full pension, a member must meet specific age and service requirements:
Age 62 with at least five years of service.
Age 50 with at least 20 years of service.
At any age with at least 25 years of service.
Average Payout: As of October 1, 2022 data, FERS retirees received an average annual pension of $45,276, while those under the older, more generous CSRS system averaged $84,504 annually.
Social Security: All members of Congress have been required to participate in Social Security and pay payroll taxes since January 1, 1984. They are eligible for benefits under the same rules as other American workers.
Thrift Savings Plan (TSP): Members can contribute to the TSP, a defined contribution plan similar to a private-sector 401(k), with the employing agency matching contributions up to 5% of their salary.
Healthcare Benefits
During Service: Members of Congress purchase their health insurance through the DC Health Link marketplace, an Affordable Care Act (ACA) exchange, and receive a federal subsidy covering approximately 72% of their premiums.

Congress gives themselves top of the line benefits mostly for doing nothing
or working against the American public.

As per Federal law, you only need 5 years of service to be vested in a pension. You won't get much after only 5 years, and you have to be of the plan's retirement age.

knowledge of what that exposure will reveal. She cannot survive making the difficult choice of having to stand in support of them. That would give them too much power over her going forward, as a result she would become powerless. OTOH if she does not defend them, then she will have no allies in the republican party and would be powerless going forward. Her time is up.

Face it, Marge being in Congress was a lot more fun when Joe was president. She will spend her time trolling and undermining our government from outside. Being in Congress is just too much hard work.

Who just so happened to come of age at a time when people with those very characteristics were given a clear path to riches and fame through MAGA politics.

She was never someone who "saw the light," she just had a VERY small light in the otherwise black hole she has has for conscience on a few items.

She is seriously unstable, so it is hard to say exactly what she will do. What is for sure is that it will be all about Marge and buffoonish.
