Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) on Friday said he has submitted a discharge petition to force a vote on bipartisan legislation imposing punishing sanctions on countries enabling Russias war against Ukraine.
This Russian-drafted propaganda must be rejected and disregarded for the unserious nonsense that it is, Fitzpatrick wrote in a statement on the social platform X.
Today, we have officially notified both the Clerk of the House and House leadership of our discharge petition to force a vote on crushing Russian sanctions immediately upon our return.
Oooohhhh.....Dementia Don doesn't like being corrected......

(22,816 posts)Control of the R's. This Congress critter tries to say he's a centrist. This is a dangerous move because his district is 50-50. I hope it means impeachment is possible. It means the ground is moving.

(683 posts)He's a total bullshitter and POS. But on this i agree with. And let me tell you, the ONLY reason he's doing this is because there is a huge eastern European immigrant population here including Ukrainians living here.

(14,783 posts)because: 1) this craven 'fade' on the part of the administration makes me absolutely sick to my stomach!
and 2) because I think this actually might be an issue where a significant portion of Republicans (both in and out of DC) are equally ill at ease - and just might be inclined to break with Dear Leader.
The betrayal of Ukraine is absolutely despicable ...
And I think many people see it in that light.
